Thanks Trent. Haha. Must be one of those Kilo bars.
Sounds like you need to open a gym. ![]()
Years ago (1987), I found an empty gym (closed, no people) filled with plate loading Nautilus machines. Just sitting. The owners had both been severely injured in the same motocross race, or some such event. If I had the money then, I would have bought it all and opened my own gym. Such opportunities are rare. But always seem to spring up when you are least prepared.
That would have been sweet!
If it’s longer than a regular power bar then it’s probably 55lbs
It was definitely a beefier bar. Had a ring right in the middle of it. The ends were capped off. I didn’t really notice if it was longer than a standard bar though.
They have tape put on their bars that designate what the bar is supposed to be used for. This one was designated specifically as a squat bar.
I will ask when I get a chance.

That’s it. Just turning the pedals to move some blood through my sore legs.
Good ride Shane! Yep, Olivia will make you turn the pedals alright. LOL
Thanks Trent. Yeah, she actually added in a minute of zone 4 on the warm up. I was like, yeah of course Olivia would do that shit. LoL.
Exactly! As she is sitting there casually pedaling at 15% resistance and 60 cadence not even breaking a sweat. ![]()

That’s it. I did confirm the squat bar was 55 pounds.
The bar is used to bench was a Rogue 20 KG bar so no excuses today. ![]()
They really do. I swear… Still a heck of an effort. Tons of weight moving on bench and DB rows. I would take those numbers any day… ![]()
I swear bumpers are not true weights man. These things feel easily 10 percent heavier. This was why I wanted to come and lift in a gym with iron plates. I didn’t want to show up to the meet accustomed to lifting bumpers or rubber coated plates and have these iron plates shock me on my openers for how heavy they feel.
I hear that. It’s funny, I have both iron and bumpers in the garage and actually weighed them on a scale once. I found that my bumper plates were actually pretty accurate and that the iron plates weighed about 3-5 pounds heavier than they were labeled (at least the 45’s). Regardless, like you said, if you’re prepping for a meet you might as well be using the “heavier” plates.
Those are good numbers. Keep at it!
Thank you!

Saturday Cardio
5 minute cool down
5 minute stretch
Just turning the pedals and moving some blood around. Trying not to impact my recovery from my workouts too much. Still was a good workout.
Headed to work and then my wife and I are going to go see Seinfeld tonight at the Fox here in Atlanta.
