Shane’s Journal

Wow! Those are some great looking workouts you’ve been having. Lots of reps on a variety of good exercises. That combined with your weekend food should definitely put you on the road to some muscle gains.

I’m looking forward to football this weekend too. I’m curious to see what the Longhorns look like this year. I’m hoping Sarkisian can work some magic and bring some consistency to the team this year.

Thank you Greg. I am trying to keep a lot of variety in with my accessories to keep it interesting.

Texas and Oklahoma are soon to be in the SEC. Going to be crazy!

I’m glad they’re making the move to SEC. Part of me cringes though, knowing there will probably be more beatdowns in their future.

Your name is like Shane Ninja right? I like that.

I dont see why any team would want to join the SEC. I guess I dont know the money part of things but strictly from a winning stand point ouch.

Solid work on those deads Shane. Glad that football is starting this weekend. Yeah, that should be a tough game at Clemson.

I think it will help with recruiting. Texas has a lot of great football players. Texas A&M has done well in the east and has been playing some pretty good bowl games since joining the league.

No, it is like Shane In Georgia. LoL. Not nearly as creative as your guess but I like it also! Don’t think I am going to be confused for being a Ninja anytime soon though.

The SEC has a good lure that the competition is really high and if you win you are definitely in one of the final teams to play for a championship. The realignment is going to be interesting when it happens.

Thank you Trent. Yep, UGA and Clemson have a good past of playing each other. They are usually pretty good games. Our schools are only 130 miles apart.

Decent day. Hit BB flats and inclines today for a change. I think I like the DBs better for accessories though. My gym has this sweet cybex incline converging chest machine I am going to give a try next week.

Nice work on the chest and calves session! That’s an awesome combo too. Yeah, I’m missing some DB bench. Need to go ahead and quit the Y and join a gym down here so I can get some variety going…

Thank you Trent.

Missed Friday workout because of work being crazy. Early for me, morning squat session. Last couple of reps on that plus set were rest pause. Got them done though.

Time for shower and college game day. Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone!

Great job on that one Shane. Not sure what LSL’s or Monster Walks are but they sound interesting… How did the Dawgs do against Clemson?

Thank you Trent. LSL is 531 lingo for Last set last. It’s a way to get extra BB volume on the movement of the day. You can also do FSL or first set last. I do these 100 percent by feel and add them where and when I feel like. LoL.

Monster walks are just a hip movement where you walk or slide sideways while performing a slight squat with a band around your knees.

UGA won. It was a defensive battle. You had two teams with good defenses who both had issues with their offenses. 10-3 with the only touchdown being a defensive pick six. Both of our offenses should be better later in the year. Once Clemson’s QB gets some more starts he will be better and if we get our receivers back we should be a lot better.

Another basement gym workout. OHP was done seated. This weekend was interesting. My son puked otw to the pool on Saturday. We spent the rest of the day and most of yesterday recovering.

All is good today but the weather isn’t cooperating for another pool day. Sucks cause this was the last weekend that the pool is open. We are headed to the beach in 2 weeks so at least we will get some more time in the sun before fall sets in.

Lower back is feeling tight but I think it is all the laying around over the past 2 days.

Looks like some really solid work going on in here. Another older boy here to follow along.

Thank you I am trying.

Well it appears my son brought home the gift that keeps on giving. Household is now all sick. I am at work and have not puked but my wife is at home sick and my son is still have some stomach issues.

At least it happened this week and not the week of the beach.

Needless to say I won’t be doing deadlifts today.

Thanks for the clarification on the last reply. Nice session on Monday. Glad you have the option of the basement gym if you want it. Man, that sucks about your son and wife (and probably you). Luckily those things tend to move through you pretty quickly and just have some lingering effects for a few days. Glad you got a session in on Monday. That might be it for a few days. :grimacing: Hang in there brother.
