Shane’s Journal

No worries Shane. Sounds like it was a hell of a week. Glad you are upgrading your system and hopefully that helps you at work. Get ya some Peloton this weekend and hopefully things ease up next week. :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s it. Going to go bowling and probably try to get in some more fishing today. The white bass have started running up in the rivers so I am hoping to catch something today.

Caught this one last week. Used an ultralight so he put up a good fight.

Weight is below the 250. Good. Large Mouth Bass is the fish of choice here.

Nice job on the Peloton ride and even better job on the fishing! Saw the pic of you and your son on IG too. That’s seriously cool man. I haven’t gone fishing since boy scouts. If I ate more fish I would probably fish every day. :joy:

Yep, glad to be back under 250.

Large mouth are popular here also. I haven’t caught one in awhile though. Not because they aren’t out there, I just suck at fishing and don’t do enough of it.

Thank you Trent. I need to do more fishing myself. We have a boat that I haven’t put in the water since my son was born. Been doing to many pool weekends instead, but I need to trade my deck boat in for a fishing boat.

Figured I would start my week with legs after being off for a week. Everything felt ok. Hip was a little achy but a little more warming up and it felt ok.

I think you mean, “Figured I would start my week off with some horrible DOMS after being off for a week.” :joy:

Solid work today Shane. That was a good amount of weight for sets of 10. My hip and a lot of other things would be sore after that.

Took the wife to get lasik this morning. Got a quick workout in after bringing her home.

Decent workout but my shoulders were still sore from last weeks manual labor. Weak sauce. LoL.

Nice job on those last couple of sessions Shane. Plenty of upper body work, abs and cardio. Looks like my days of being jealous of your HS machine posts have come to an end. I just joined O2 Fitness (not sure if they have those down there?) and plan to start going some on my lunch breaks. I will probably do my heavy lifting in the garage but will do accessory work and cardio there.

Hope your wife’s eyes are feeling OK. I’ve wanted to have that surgery for years but my insurance doesn’t cover it.

Thank you Trent. Congrats on joining the gym. I like my home gym, but honestly haven’t used it much since I went back to the gym, which really is a shame. I won’t be without another home gym though, just in case something crazy happens and all the gyms shut down again.

Her eyes are doing great. She is healing up. They give you these clear plastic covers to tape over your eyes while you sleep, and tell you not to rub your eyes. She also has to wear sunglasses for awhile and not get water in them for a week. She says it felt like she had sand in her eyes and was painful but each day there are large improvements. I swear that lasik is like magic. You go in unable to see and come out with perfect vision. Our insurance didn’t cover it either. It was about $3600 bucks after all taxes, etc so not bad when you consider you come out being able see. I have never had issues with my eyes. Always been 20/20 but my eyes are starting to fade with age. She now has 20/15 vision and can see better than me. Prior to this she was legally blind. LoL.

I think that’s what they call, problems with your eyes. :joy:

I remember when I finally bit the bullet and got glasses. For me, the biggest gain was that I could all of a sudden read road signs and spot police officers hiding from far away. :joy: I would say that outweighs the PITA of having to keep two pairs with you all the time (sunglasses and regular glasses) and having to clean them often. Now when I take mine off I can’t see shit… I’ve never read about it but have a theory that wearing glasses actually makes your eye sight worse because your eyes get used to the glasses. Not sure if there is any truth to that… Sound like a crazy recovery from Lasik. I could never sleep with stuff taped over my eyes. LOL. Glad some people can… Most importantly, glad she is doing better each day. :slightly_smiling_face:

Nice session today. You went pretty heavy on the deads. Good to see that. Lots of upper body work too. Way to get it done. :+1:t2: :+1:t2:

LoL. I think you are right about the problems with the eyes. I will probably wait a couple years and go get lasik as well. I saw a meme that said there are people out here seeing for free, lol. That has been me for 44 years. I guess it is about time for me to start paying a little for the privilege.

Thanks on the deads, they felt heavy today.

Nice job on the Peloton. Solid calorie dump. Sounds good switching the programming up. Hopefully that helps with the DOMS. :+1:t2: :+1:t2:
