Jake - I appreciate you calling my arms a strong point. I was FUing at the posing bit haha.

190/419xF Weird day. The 170kg were tough and I didn’t get the 180kg in the first attempt. The second attempt flew up however so I decided to try 190kg but that was just too heavy
Front Squat Clean Grip
3xbarx5
60/132x3
80/176x3
100/220xF Pass out PR Clean grip was working out really well, so I planned to try to get to 3 plates. Those plans were destroyed by passing out. I think it might have been because I didn’t get a full breath of air before unracking. As soon as I started to go down I realized that I wouldn’t come up with the weight again. I had lost all control so the bar smashed down on the safties and I fell backwards where I lay for a couple of second while shaking my arms and legs without my body wanting to do anything voluntarily. Pretty creepy.
I feel you on the passing out problem, it sucks. It seems to occur when I’m a bit more fatigued and have trouble holding the bar in a proper rack position so it ends up pressing on my throat a bit. Solid deadlifting, the 190kg will fall in no time brah!
The bar was definitely pressing my throat. I just figured that was how clean grip was supposed to be haha. It sucks because it felt like I wouldn’t have any trouble keeping my elbows up this time.
Yeah the 190kg should be hopefully be easy if I’m completely fresh. My hammies still were a little sore today from the back raises on Thursday. They really get crazy DOMS.
I also think it’s a matter of getting used to pulling singles again since my form seemed pretty inconsistent today. The 180kg I lifted just flew up.
For my next week I’m dropping deload, since that’ll allow me to hit a scheduled deload when I go to Majorca in a month.

WTF is this trend of passing out in front squats? Not I trend I want to get in on!
Solid training as usual otherwise.
Seriously wtf is up with this, Samoth, Phlegms and H4M have all had similar issues. =/ makes me nervous for tomorrow!

I tip my hat to you, fine sir. Have more internets.
I wouldn’t be worried Jab. I’m sure my issues were just because of the clean grip I used today. So I wasn’t used to the bar choking me that bad and I didn’t get a full breath.
If you stay smart I’m sure there won’t be any problems.
I’ll just keep the front squats low weight and high reps for a while though. The involuntary spasms and lack of controls were quite scary.
Spar4tee are you saying that we all cheated our way out of a semi-chocking and now destiny is semi-chocking all of us? That shit is crazy.

I think its a flexibility think, depending on how far you can keep the elbows up to stop the bar pressing against your throat. Its worth playing around with.
It may very well be a flexibility issue. Looking at a couple of videos it seems like it’s only the fingers pressing on the bar. I’m pretty sure I was doing it with the palm of my hands for the last two sets. It allowed me to keep the elbows higher but I might have been pressing the bar hard at my neck.

More experimenting is definitely needed.
I’ve found it depends on where on my delts I have the bar sitting will dictate what kind of pressure it exerts on my throat, and thus how likely I am to pass out.
Today was the first shorts day of the year. It’s a shame my calves are so pathetically small (and pale)
Cycle 1 Week 3 Bench
Bench
2xbarx10

90/198x1
100/220x1
105/231x1
110/243x1 PR
115/254xF I brought my grip back in a bit so ring fingers were on the rings. That made it feel a bit less stable, which is probably because I am used to a wider grip. The strength was really good. If I had psyched my self up more and had a lift off I’m sure the 115kg would have been there as well.
Incline Log Press
logx15
+10/22x10
+15/33x8
+15/33x6
logx12 This killed my triceps but didn’t do much for chest. Fun though.

I was thinking about this yesterday - I noticed that when I sit it right and get my elbows up enough it doesn’t even touch my throat at all (or if it does, doesn’t press against it) and just sits very solidly on my delts.
Now I just need to stay ahead. Since your deadlift is miles ahead of mine I’m sure you won’t mind that I’m a tad stronger in the squat and bench press.
