I was going to say that you should’ve asked the people next to you for liftoff but I think that dude had 10# plates on the HS.

So I just got back from a drunken weekend in the boonies with my buddy, went bungie jumping and did a bunch of other random shit. Best weekend evah

was only 150ft but I’d never done that shit before so it was still an oh shit moment for me hahaha, glad I didn’t drop my camera. Good time for sure.

The worst part is waiting in line at the top, then slowly getting strapped up by the edge hahaha. Everyone that was there was pretty scared, but that’s what makes that kind of stuff awesome!

Well I’m back in my hometown, visited family and drank alot on both trips lol. Was a good time that I am vurry tired from now. BW was 212.0 this morning so down a bit, thankful for that! So back to business until I start working next week!

Awesome benching. Sorry about the unnecessary spot, I hate random spotters for that too.

I used to get that a lot with random spotters, but now I actually make a point of telling them exactly what to do as polite as I can sound [I always feel like it comes off as talking down to them or whatever…]. Basically I say something along the lines of:

“Last time I got ‘X’ reps, so I’m hoping for one or two reps more-- don’t worry man you don’t have to do much, just help me with the lift off. If I feel like I can’t get a rep I’ll tell you to spot, but otherwise you might not have to do anything.”

Haven’t had a problem since. People have completely differing conceptions of what spotting is [even on this site I noticed], so I guess explaining it exactly is necessary.

Nice liftin bud, and glad to hear the trip was a good one. It’s always nice to go back home and BS with family after a prolonged period away.

Thanks for the advice! I did tell him that I didn’t need a spot because the pins were set to catch me, but I guess his instincts kicked in anyways! lol

lolz, I didn’t want to hurt his feelings! I kind of chewed him out for that but I made him help me with the heavy set and the dips he wouldn’t feel like a failure! That kind of stuff makes people hate serious lifters!
