hey sentoguy im curious to hear your thoughts on this, do you think that a shorter day needs less cals. What i mean is that I used to sometimes if i couldnt get all my meals in stay up later to get the food in. WAs that a bad idea, did i need less cals since i was awake for a shorter time.
Also lets go one step further and say that on a certain day ur awake for 2 hours longer than most days so u have an extra meal. Now because u were up later your next day is shorter, do u need less cals since that extra meal was eaten. Does that meal count towars todays cals. Was that confusing or do u now what im saying?

I understand what you’re saying.
In theory you would need less calories for a lesser activity day (I don’t really know if I’d say less time awake=less activity though). That said, I try to keep my meals/calories as consistent as possible and will only add another meal to a very long day if I actually feel hungry (which does happen).
It also of course depends on if you are gaining or cutting. I wouldn’t make it a practice to miss meals while gaining (just maybe condense them into a smaller time frame), but missing one while cutting probably wouldn’t be a big deal (though to be honest I haven’t done a serious cut yet, so I can’t speak from experience in that department).
Consistency is still #1 though. If you miss one meal in 6 months it’s probably not going to have a noticeable effect. If you miss one every day, that’s going to show in your progress much more.
