Seated Hammer Curl Variation

Take a preacher bench and sit on it backwards, with your back against the pad where your chest would be normaly.Take the dumbells and push your elbows or triceps into the pad and keep them there while you curl.

I have a tendency to use my shoulders when I curl so I like to take them out of the lift as much as possible and this seems to do a good job.

You might then like using an Arm Blaster.

I never used to use these, but now having problems with the left shoulder it has become a very useful device.

Yeah I have one of these as does my gym but it is different. With the curl I explained I couldnt bring my hand up far enough to enter what I call the dead zone (point at the top where there is no resitance).

I use the arm blaster for reverse grip sometimes.

Mmm seems like it would give a hell of a stretch, I’ll try it out.

Sounds good, I’ll try it out

Been doing these for a while, (Since I didn’t like how my shoulders felt when the elbows were in front of me, as they were when I correctly used the preacher). Love em.

I also like how, if done unilaterally, you can brace yourself by grasping the bench with your free hand, and also dig your tricep into the bench, to get a few more reps.

If you like those, try facing down on an incline bench and do your hammers that way

This works pretty well. Any bicep curl laying face down on an incline bench works well for that matter. I havent done these in a while, but I may have to resurrect them.
