My right shoulder is giving me some pain. I have tried ice & heat to no avail. I am taking some NSAIDs to see if that may help. But so far, nothing. I have also tried shoulder dislocates and that doesn’t help. I can’t attribute this to weightlifting, as it existed prior to starting back up.
Aside from seeing a professional, does anyone else have any tips to relieve shoulder pain? I just wanna lift!!!
I think it would be best to see a physician. theres nothing we can say or do without seeing it, and I personally wouldnt want to tell you to push through it and later learn you tore it apart

I suppose you are right. It just sucks. I have been hitting the T-Dawg v2.0 (still can’t seem to eat enough calories) and am purely psyched to have a great workout…and BOOM! No shoulder.
I know you said besides professional help but seriously, 30 minutes with a physical therapist is time WELL spent.
If you get to see a professional or a physical therapist then you can find out exactly what is wrong with your shoulder. Then you can find out how to fix your problem.
Or, you might actually get a diagnose about what the problem is.
I know, I know.
I’m funny that way.
yeah, first thing I would do is see a physical therapist. when i first injured my shoulder (doing bench press) I never saw a doctor and it got to the point where i wouldnt bench at all which set me back. I finally just decided to rest and try to rehab the shoulder on my own (stretching and strengthing it). I finally went to a doctor after it started hurting again while doing yoga. Good thing it wasnt my rotator cuff. it was some damaged cartilage/torn muscle of the sort.
I stopped doing yoga for the time being since that is what started the pain again. I am benching on a regular basis, but i am limited what I can do because of tennis elbow (something else i should get looked at to see how severe it is).
I am also able to bench after I was told the proper way to do it. I don’t let my elbows go past a 90 degree angle so i don’t put too much weight on my shoulders, but I am still able to get the workout and results I want.
I was given pills to help with the inflammation and pain, but i’d rather not take those pills b/c I don’t want to rely on them. I have actually just started to lift a little more heavily with my shoulders so I can better my bench press. My shoulder almost feels at one hundred percent. The only time it bugs me is doing tricep pushdowns or dips. Usually feel a type of popping in the shoulder region if I do too much weight with those exercises.
