Scariest movie?

They re-made that? I’ll have to check it out.

Good point about books being scarier than movies. It’s because you have to use your imagination. On a similar note, I think that the reason that horror movies suck nowadays is because they’re too dependent on gore. Some of the scariest movies are the ones where you don’t see what happens, and your mind is forced to fill in the blanks.

Ahh, Dario Argento. Yes, have seen “Suspiria” - rented it for Halloween like, two years ago. It was slightly dated, but very wierd nevertheless. I thought Argento had a new one out last year - I had seen footage as well as stills. It looked very bloody (his trademark) as well as “scary”. Gotta look for that again. I forgot about Misery. Great flick.

There is a new film coming out soon, directed by Steven Soderbergh and Produced by James Cameron. It's the remake of "Solaris". Have any of you seen the teaser trailer? I've seen a few stills of the sets - complete with bloody footprints and handprints. The sets of the space station look very eerie. Kinda cool. Looking forward to this one.

Has anyone seen Candyman?

I’ve been raised on horror movies. These days the slasher flicks absolutely bore me. The supernatural ones are the ones that entertain me. Even though they aren’t scary, these ones were fun to watch. Thirteen Ghosts, House on Haunted Hill(Until the disneyfied ending) The Others, and Stir of Echoes(If you concider them horrors) Pumpkin Head. And such

The last scene in the movie The Thing its the guy who when he is breathing in the cold air has no vapour coming out of his mouth. If you have a copy of the movie check it out.I also apologise for being really geeky but thought you might like this info.

Lots of good flicks here. Event Horizon creeped me out. the all time creepiest for me was a flick called Jacob’s Ladder. 2 scenes, one where a lizard tail (tentacle?) impales a woman on a crowded dance floor, and the worst, a limbless man writhing on a gurney on his way to …Also, saw a trailer for the PC game Silent Hill. THAT is creepy.

For fuck sake hasn’t anybody seen THE OMEN??
Gregory Peck stars in what is surely the scariest film ever, wake up yanks you must see this. If you don’t belive me look it up it’s burys the fucking Blair witch project, I won’t even watch it again it really is that bad and I’m 20! Remember ‘THE OMEN’

By the way, the “original” movie that had a killer calling from inside the house was Black Christmas, which pre-dated Halloween and When a Stanger Calls.

The Entity is scary. Also if you truly want to be creeped out, watch The Haunted with Sally Kirkland, Evil Dead Trap, House by the Cemetary, Ring or Audition. I’m not talking about the “bullshitty” Hollywood pablum. I’m talking about check the closet, leave an extra light on scary.
