SAVAGED NATION Contest Thread

Well they’re two possible shows “nearby” in March and the other in May. I sit around 290 lbs now and wanna get close to ripped as possible without appearing stringy @ 6’4. Time to hit the treadmill again… lol. As long as my quads look like roadmaps, I guess im on my way! :stuck_out_tongue:

Ill have to see what 260 will look like.

I’m glad to hear that you’re just readjusting your plan and not just moving on. You’ve got too much of a great physique, and have come to far to just go back to being ‘big’ without any thoughts on quality, symmetry etc. Don’t even give the scale #s a second thought big man, keep pressing on, doing what you’ve got to do.

Just wanted to reiterate all of this.

If the nearest contest is March, that’s still about 12 weeks to get some good work done. No doubt you can handle it.

Like Stu said, I wouldn’t even stress about the scale at all. The number’s just a number. The quality of your appearance is what’s going to count. Stick to your plan and go for it. And remember you’ve got the whole crew right here pulling for you.

People have been overly nice to you in here, but I get the impression that your mindset is still a bit of a “gymrat” rather than a realistic “competitor”. My point is that either you plan to be shredded or not for your comp. If being at proper comp. condition means that you look “stringy”, than that it is what it is. The statement to be “as ripped as possible without appearing stringy” doesn’t make much sense to me. All it seems to be is setting you up with some excuse to not get shredded if the mind games (the 'ol “I’m not as big as I thought I was” trap) start.

Anyway, good luck and props for putting yourself out there if you pull through.

No “if” will. By stringy appearance, thst alludes more to over dieting. Coming in a big bloated mess isn’t part of the gameplan as well. I make my mistake prepping with no help and that’s all part of my learning. Im honest with myself first and foremost. Even if others tell me I look good. I don’t half step anything the gym.Im sincere in my efforts and plan to go forth with plans of the future.
I appreciate your honesty.

Thanks Stu and Chris for your support. A combination of Positive and negative feedback seems to the best motivator! It’s true scale weight doesn’t mean dick. End result is the Only thing that you can be judged on… no matter how much of a hardworking gym rat you may, or may not be, judgement day iis the only day tyat truly counts for competitors.
