Saps Cycle Begins

Thanks 5
I’ve been hit and miss with this log just like my training. My joints really are as bad now as at any point in my life. It really sucks that the strength surge took this toll on my body. Hips and knees are ok moreso than elbows and shoulders. More fish and flax and maybe that glucosamine stuff. Deca never got me this strong but then I never ached like this either

Haha, if you gained 20 lbs with 300 grams of protein and 4 - 5k cals a day, I can’t wait to see what’ll happen with 600g of protein and 6k cals a day. I keep about a 40/40/20 diet when bulking. Conveniently, since I keep 40% of my calories in protein, all I have to do is divide my total calories by 10 to get how many grams of protein I need per day to equal 40% of my calories.

For supplementation, I keep it to the multi, fish oil, whey isolate, casein, creatine, beta-alanine, BCAA’s, and Superfood.

All of this combined with a high-frequency workout regime, I should hopefully see great results.[/quote]

I think you should. Like I alluded to above. There comes a point after a few weeks on tren where I just didn’t want to eat almost. Food is function so I usually powered thru but still. Its hard to eat if you really don’t want to

I often am doing something when I am eating so that I don’t have to focus on it so much. I’ll be watching TV, working on the computer, playing with my kids, etc. That’s one way I’ve found I can eat when I really don’t want to.

Probably true. But I’ve had a lot of off days in the past month

You are definitely a strong dude!

Thanks DD. This cycle was largely a tren test for the strength benfits on 1RM’s. It was a success for the most part as all my tested lifts are up measureably from say two months ago. However, the wear and tear on my joints and body in general is something I cannot ignore. Not blaming tren exclusively for the joint pain of course but how much anything individually is to blame is a question. I guess I never realized how spoiled I was on Deca.

nice progress Saps. getting me very excited to start my tren this week. hopefully my joints are ok on it because they have been giving me a bit of trouble already. very excited to try deca this winter.

That was probably my problem heading into my cycle too. I trained progressively harder every week from February to May. Looking back at my log I cannot see that I ever deloaded or back off much ever during those four months. So then June rolls around and I get the surge from my cycle and so the weights so up even more but then come July I was just fired from not having taken an adequate break in nearly five or six months. Four days off sometimes is not nearly enough. Again, I’m not blaming tren for my joint pain but my overall program the past five months. I was saying had I had some Deca during the cycle I might not be hurting so bad right now.

Good Job saps. Nice to see that the injury a while back didnt put you out of commission.

I couldnt agree more how hard it is to just slow down once in a while. The strength keeps going up and up and you just want to go harder each time.

I guess im just lucky im not as strong as you are as the joint pain isnt near as common for you. Your one strong dude.

God-DAMN saps! Those were some very, very impressive lifts!

Guys like you elevate everyone else in the gym’s training. You just can’t help but want to push yourself harder when you see beasts (like you) moving weight like that right beside you, it’s inspiring.

Jelly

Thanks JR. Its a double edged sword. I know in my own gym I’m one of “the” guys. So despite training alone for the most part I always push and push and push to be bigger, stronger, faster. Always giving 110% in the gym can lead to burnout and negative consequences. I have been following a lot of more advanced lifters than myself and they all seem to take a week a month either off or as a deload. I need to learn how to manage and control the intensity of my training so that I don’t burn out and overreach. Then again, there’s a massive difference between taking one de-loading week a month and one every six months. I just need to find the balance. Tomorrow I get back in the gym after literally an entire week off. I obviously won’t ease back as I hope I have not lost anything strength wise. I’m less than 10 days to starting stasis period so I’m going to push within reason here on out.

So I trained for the first time in a full week and there was a dip in my strength. Not sure I’m already losing the tren edge or this was the natural result of a week off or I have been undereating the past several days or likely a combo of the three.

2 weeks ago I got 5 reps with 405 on the 2 board, today/yesterday it was only three. I always finish my board work with a 315 rep out set. Last 3 training sessions I’ve gone over 20 reps each time. This time I racked after 17. It is concerning to say the least. I won’t overreact but will monitor this closely.

What has me less worried its a total strength degradation is my other exercises. I have not done cable rows in forever but I did 5 sets of 15-12 with 300lbs. Its a new precor/icarian machine I’ve never tried but totally felt it in my lats; it was nice. Did some other stuff too didn’t notice the strength loses there. Could just still be the wear and tear on my elbows and shoulders. I was noticing those babies were hurting towards the end.

My BP is absolutely returning to normal. Last Monday was 149/91 today/yesterday I was down to 133/82. I’m feeling better in general regarding aerobic capacity. Sweating less overall and sex drive on Test only is sky high. So the tren is absolutely clearing out of my system.

Hopefully tomorrow’s gym experience is even better than today’s.

OK I think the strength is not vanishing that fast afterall. Training a bit different and hopefully wiser.
In the past three days I did Incline Press 325x1 followed by Incline DB Press 125’s x 9. Let me tell you this is the first time I did incline barbell press this year wow what a different move from both the flat bench and even the incline DB press.

Cable Rows 335x12 followed by 360x9. My gym now has an Icarian Cable rows machine that I love. I totally feel it in the lats and backside. Never really like cable rows but I tried this machine and I love it. I love it so much I did the 335 and 360 sets just 2 days after all those sets of 300.

Rack Pull 3" off floor 585x1, tried 605 and lost it and a lot of skin on palm [ouch!]. These are my first pulls in months. Nice to see the months off did not mean a loss of pulling power.

The elbows continue to plague me though. I need a long term solution other than stop training

D-d-d-d-deadlifts?! Ah finally! Haha Yeah, the skin on my hands is completely caliced over, so no more rips for me fortunately. Do you use chalk? I personally don’t like chalk, so what I do is I steal 2 of the wipe-off towels from the gym equipment and put them over where I grip. It works better than chalk IMO.

I totally use chalk. It think because its been so long my grip is weak again proportionally speaking. 175lb DB rows don’t quite get you ready for 600lbs in your hands. I think I will back off the squats and get that dead into the mid 600’s hopefully and then re-start a true alternating program where I do one one week and the other the next. When my squat started taking off I get a little crazy and neglectful of deads.

I plan on doing both deads and squats twice a week ME, though no more than 5 sets each time of each. My goal is to break 800 lbs on each as well as a 500lb bench. None of this is assisted either, no belts, wraps, shirts. For some reason, I can lift more without a belt. People call me weird, but I just am able to lift at least 50 lbs more without it.

In honor of BPGorilla over in the Strength Sports forum here at Tnation I did some reverse band presses off my 2 board. I worked up to 585x1 and missed 600x1. No video of it even though I brought the camera to the gym. Dead battery upon arrival which sucked but oh well. So it appears my strength has not waned too much yet.

I should spend a minute talking about zits. I have spent most of my log taking about sides that were either BP related or aerobic capacity related with the tren. However, [and lets all admit zits are such a personal thing] but in recent weeks my back has broken out moderately and its getting worse. I have only one 375mg shot of Test left before I begin my month of bi-weekly 50mg shots during my stasis period [basically August].

No zits on the face or anywhere else but the back and butt are getting more than their fair share. This happened last time for me two. Its seems the first 5-6 weeks I can live relatively zit free but around 5-6 weeks in I start getting them. Last time they started vanishing once I was in stasis and were all but gone during my taper phrase.

Which pretty much means once my body returns to having normal physiological test levels the acne will be gone. I can deal with the I guess on my back I think it would be worse if any of them popped up on my face.

Bro I totally feel you. I actually just asked my mother (she still pays for my medications, bless her  ) to buy me some more minocyclin (sp) for acne as well as some prescription gels, wash creams, and acne pads. I’m getting ready for this because although I will accept body acne if I cannot win against it, I am not sure if I will be able to tolerate huge breakouts on the face. I am only 22 after all.

Yeah what’s strange was as a teen years ago I did have moderate facial acne. After about 20/21 it was cleared up and to this day I get maybe 3 face zits a year. There are probably 30-40 reddish zits on my whole backside right now according to my gf. Not one on the face. Some research chem places carry Isotretinoin but its not cheap at all.
