He’s finally done the right thing. I certainly hope it bolsters Romney’s campaign and Obama goes down to defeat in Novemeber.
It’s about time they started clearing the field and let Romney get on with campaigning against Obama.
Right move, it was overdue, but Santorum has a lot of capital to do two things now:
-
Make sure the opinions he represents get baked into the GOP platform
-
Rally his supporters to Romney
Oh well. Hope his daughter’s health improves.
I love this.
This not only makes the debate more enjoyable but also exposes this fraud for who he is.
He spent months trying to distinguish himself from his rivals and now he will just wave his hand, undo everything he previously said, and anoint the victor.
Ah, politics…
Just what we need another mediocre President

You said it Lifty. And I don’t think it will ever change.
?Some of us just have a hard time supporting a person who said he was going to be more liberal on gay rights than Ted Kennedy,? said Farris, chairman of the Home School Legal Defense Association, referring to remarks Romney made in a 1994 letter.
I thought that quote was funny, of everything he stands for that’s the issue they went with. Pretty much the reason he had no chance to begin with.
Easily the most frightening GOP candidate to me on a purely visceral level. I would hate to see a man as dumb and misguided as that with so many followers get into power, especially running on morality.

YO ITS ONLY MORAL IF ITS MISSIONARY STYLE SON.
Thank God. Even though I’m not a huge fan of Romney, he isn’t Obama, so that’s a plus.

How does that “expose” him for the “fraud…who he is?” Do you expect him to endorse Obama? Have a hissy fit and endorse no one? Endorse Newt who’s bouncing checks and living in fantasy land? Paul’s circus? What’s he supposed to do? How does it make him a fraud?
Romney
Mormon. Instantly disqualified.
Gingrich
Serial adulterer who still wants to be the shining paragon of morality.
Paul
Doesn’t think abortion, contraception, or gay marriage should be banned at the federal level. To social conservatives, he talks the talk but doesn’t walk the walk.
Obama
Democrat, instantly disqualified.
TL;DR: Social conservatives/Christian evangelicals won’t vote for anyone this year. Santorum’s gone which means they are too.

Who wants to “ban…contraception…at the federal level” raj? Did I miss the candidate who’s running on a federal condom ban platform? Romney is disqualified because he’s a Mormon? Is that what you think or are you mocking evangelicals? Evangelicals have been voting for Romney in big numbers already.
Now that Santorum has gone and Newt is on the moon or something they’re going to vote for Romney in even larger numbers. Conservatives aren’t obsessed with sex and race and religion like you whackjobs on the far left.

This post was meant as a joke… sorry you didn’t get that. I thought that was evident by the post above it.

Er…who’s pushing for ‘Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transgender, “Questioning”’ ‘advocacy’ groups in schools and demanding free sponges and abortifacients for 30-year-olds and all that stuff eh? Yeah, big “lol” - off you go now.

And Santorum believes mutually consenting adults do not have a right to privacy in their bedroom.
“It’s the strange thing about this church: it is obsessed with sex, absolutely obsessed. Now they will say, we with our permissive society and our rude jokes are obsessed – no, we have a healthy attitude: we like it, it’s fun, it’s jolly. Because it’s a primary impulse, it can be dangerous and dark and difficult. It’s a bit like food in that respect, only even more exciting. The only people who are obsessed with food are anorexics and the morbidly obese, and that in erotic terms is the church in a nutshell.”
