Anyway, just ordered a pack of 12. Had no idea of what they were before, and they definitely look better than any protein bar I’ve seen here in Italy and a lot convenient. Macros are awesome.
The very ones. That is a good flavor too. The real selling point for me is that they are the only protein bars that don’t cause me to have an allergic reaction and struggle to breathe.
So I’d completely forgotten about this. My cut’s over as of yesterday, and my final weight is around 163 lb. So a weight loss of roughly 15 lb in 6 weeks.
I still don’t look that lean, but losing more weight probably wouldn’t be the best choice right now.
I just read @T3hPwnisher’s latest article about training and nutrition and that resonated with me so much. The last part seems to have been written for me lol. I’m really motivated and I can’t wait to get into the gym from next week on.
I’ll work hard as fuck and eat a ton, and hopefully I’ll kick ass as a result and build a good amount of muscle. I’m hyped up.
My blog is called “Mythical Strength”. If you google it, you should be able to find it. Direct linking of training related sites tends to be frowned upon on the forums here.
How did it take so long for you to discover quest bars?
Their protein is also really good- a bit on the expensive side though It’s whey+casein and makes the most amazing pudding when mixed with greek yogurt. Even better when slightly frozen
Oh, I had a terrible experience with the customs as well. The one and only time I ordered a supplement from a US shop, it took 3 months for it to get to my country, and another month and a half to get through the customs, also I had to pay 20% of the price of the object in customs taxes.
So since tomorrow will be my first day on BBB beefcake and the beginning of my mass gain phase, I thought I’d grab some groceries to get ready. This should be enough for the first week and a half or so…

alternating with chest supported db rows 5x10
Rope crunch 50 reps
So this first workout was very hard already. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn’t lock out the 10th rep on the 4th BBB set and the 10th of the last set just got stuck slightly above the mid range. I managed to finish the supplemental work in just under 20 minutes but next time I’ll have to pace myself better—I took too little rest between the first 2-3 sets and then I had to rest more because I was gassed.
The BBB work wasn’t very heavy but hell, did it tax my lungs and heart. I felt like I had been doing sprints from the second set on. After the third set I started having an excruciating headache and felt lightheaded. The 20 minutes allotted for supplemental work gave me just enough rest to make it through, although strength itself wasn’t a problem.
I’m already starting to notice what @T3hPwnisher told me. As soon as I finished my workout, I thought to myself, “shit, if I wanna have a chance of successfully doing that again next week with MORE weight than today, I better eat a fuck ton.” I don’t want to think about the squat day lol

Hard workout. My last main work set was really hard which makes me wonder if I’ll have difficulties with my main work the next weeks. The last rep on sets 4 and 5 of supplemental were vaguely grindy, all sets were hard but solid. Alternating BBB work with hard sets of rows taxed my lungs as well.
All of this spells: EAT. On Jim Wendler’s forums, I was talking about my mass gain phase and someone, after seeing my plan, told me, “if you’re after the results you’re talking about, I would literally plan on force-feeding myself if I were you,” and that’s what I’m working up to doing. I need all the support I can get to tackle this program. I’m also aiming for 10k steps a day and doing long walks on off days to keep baseline activity high enough to justify all the calories.
I really think you’ve got your head in the right space on this one. Training hard enough you need to eat big: eating big enough that you can train hard. I’m excited to see how this pans out.

Dips 14, 13, 10, 13
Chins (neutral grip) 10, 8, 7
When I finished the squats I felt like my head was gonna explode. Doing assistance work after that kind of supplemental is just ridiculous. As soon as I got done with my first set of chins I had to hold back a strong stimulus to puke.
I drove home and I’m now laying pathetically on my bed. It took me 10 minutes of lying with my eyes closed and deep breathing to recover a bit as I felt like I was going to pass out. Bottom line is, I’m feeling like shit right now and this session drove me into the ground. Lungs on fire, heart racing, head hurting and numb legs—I guess this is what BBB beefcake squat day feels like.
Which, incidentally, reminds me of how weak and pathetic I am and how much stronger and bigger I need to get. Which brings me to, you guessed it: it’s lunchtime again (even though I’m so debilitated that I wonder if I’ll even manage to cook it).
