Samuel Harville-14yo-Benches 405

Sorry if this has been posted…but I saw in Sports Illustrated (faces in the crowd) where Samuel Harvill, a 6’0" 240 14 year old HOSS, bench pressed 405 at a camp and there’s a video if you google him benching 185 48 times!!! Very impressive…still, i would like to see his birth certificate…

I just can’t see how a 14 year old’s body is mature enough to bench 300 lbs. let alone 400…However, more props to him

WTF!!!???

very impressive

I just watched the video and the dude looks 30yo!!!

The weight free falls to his chest and then he catches the bounce to lock it out, impressive!!!

He’s 14, how many 14 year olds can even bench 185lbs? I also have to wonder how many people here can put 185lbs up 48 times, bounce or not.

Hes 15 now, said 425 was his max or something like that.

From the look of those reps with 185 I just dont see him haveing the overall power it would take to bench 405. Because if you have acces to a camera and are puting up videos of reping out 185 why no 405 video?

here we go again.

The kid live and goes to school in the same town I live in. He is for real. I understand that his new max now is 450lbs. Under Armor is supposedly sponsering the entire football team beacause of him. Anyway check him out on espn.com… Lucky little shit… 14yrs old… I guess I need to work even harder…

hell … talking about premature puberty ha ha. i bet he’s one hell of a bully at school

tho i would like to see a video of him benching over 400 too. just to prove the 405 is not an estimation of one rep max according to some calculator with reps and weight in it.

He must have hit puberty at 7.

Gahh. That was painful to watch. Great raw strength, but someone needs to set him up with a strength coach or at least show him the ropes before he hurts himself.

He’s either got a ton of potential or ribs made of rubber.

where is the espn article i cant find it? Also he should start competing if he is the real deal

Or maybe he should focus on football? You know, where there is money and scholarships to be earned.

just because he can bench alot-if he can- dosn’t mean he will be good at football, there is no reason he shouldn’t try but he should also do power lifting if he is indeed benching 405.

I fully realize that, I play college football and am pretty good at it. Supposedley this kid is already on rivals, etc. so I’d say there’s a chance he’s good at football.

If you have the athletecism to do 185 lbs 48 times, and your legs are equally strong you have a very good chance of being an excellent football player, at the very least getting a scholarship. Which is easier than trying to get a scholarship for powerlifting.

Many programs give scholarships on numbers alone. 4.2s 40, >400lbs bench, 6’5 290 solid.
