Rymon Log of Lifting

well u wont belive me but the only time i had real arm work was last night i did biceps and triceps… i wanted to tr what arm day is… diidnt like it to be onyl for samll muscle…
legs i do leg day to squat more… thats why i go as low as 5 reps… daeadift idea again… dng i hate that lift… but today is back day so i will try it… and tips?

Quite often the exercise you hate the most is the one you need to do the most.

Tips:

  • start light. Use pins or blocks to keep the bar at the height it will be when you use 20 kg plates if you need to.

  • ribs down should be all you need for your lower back. Don’t worry if your upper back is a bit rounded.

  • pull your shoulders behind the bar and keep them there.

  • push down into the floor with your feet and pull the bar back into yourself.

I believe you. I don’t like ‘arm day’ either. So, I do curls between some squat sets or supersetted with shrugs on DL day. Then I do calves between pressing and benching sets, and some more shrugs on bench day.

i do hammer curl on chest day btween sets i got that from u… no faliure just 10 or 12 reps
u should try incline hammer it burns LOl
on t nathin posts on facebook they told me to do block deadlift where i put the par on box to decrese renge… man deadlift is bad … fell it in hammstring or it enjury u kinda scary… my hams only felt when sniff deadlift
ok deailift tops needded
1 foot width… hips or shoulder? wddth
the pull frist or u push floor with bent legs untel tpass knees? where shud i feel the burn
pul carter has article here says deadlift idnt as good as sniff leg cuz has no streth point and it doesnt build mass

That’s just your hamstrings working extra hard because your back isn’t strong enough I would think. So, lower the weight.

These could work, but I’ve never done them. Arguably you could set them up so you hit your back and it would work.

Just about. Don’t start using your back to move until the bar is at your knees. Until that point, fight to keep your shoulders behind the bar - that’ll keep your back plenty busy.

Wrong question in this case. You’re deadlifting to make your back stronger, so trying to feel a burn won’t be helpful. Besides, they’re deadlifts. You’ll feel EVERYTHING.

From that particular article:

“Sure, it’s obviously a great movement to build and demonstrate overall strength. And before you get “triggered” and start throwing a hissy fit, I didn’t say you can’t build mass with the deadlift. Clearly you can. But the deadlift alone isn’t a great mass-building movement.”

You’re deadlifting to get a stronger back. Not to build mass. Plus, as you’ll read he doesn’t say the deadlift isn’t a good mass builder. He doesn’t isn’t a great mass builder on its own - like squat or bench aren’t great mass builders on their own.

Hang from a pull up bar. Drop. Look down. That’s your width.

UR SO SMART… !! thanks tons… trying deadlift today to a set of 5 max

then why do we do it?

what that mean??
and also wanna me to make a new deadlift vid? and squat?

Haha, the guy who figured it out was smart. I got that from a Dave Tate piece I think. Either way, my pleasure.

A 5RM is a good choice. If you’re squatting 90x5, you’ll probably get to around 110x5. Working up go in threes, not fives. Example:

40x3, 55x3, 70x3

By then you’ll start feeling weight on the bar. You’d go 85, start and if by the third rep it felt still pretty easy, stop. Then go 95. Same deal, by this time you’ll be closer to your 5RM so you’d go for five reps. Based on how that felt, you’d go somewhere between 100 and 110 for another five.

Either we’re PLers (like me, because they’re competition lifts); and/or we enjoy doing them; and/or they make us stronger; and/or they combine with other exercises to build mass.

My glutes and hams owe a lot to squats and DL in their size. My quads grow from narrow stance squats but need more direct work to grow. My pecs grow from benching, but my tris and delts do well when I add dips and press.

If you look from the side, your shoulders should be in line with or behind the bar. If the come forward, the bar will move forward and away from you which makes life much harder.

Sure, why not? Profile for squat (side on), forty five degrees for deadlift.

Seriously, though @rymon511 Pwnisher is one dude you should listen to. He might not be super patient, but I have yet to see him give advice that isn’t good.

This log… rofl.

You guys are the guardian angels of the frail minded.

You’re a bit of a dick aren’t you?

Was that really necessary?
