Ryan Kenelly Arrested for Steroid Posession and Sales

I just read somewhere that these steroid busts are now averaging about 130k per conviction. Most steroid dealers don’t have 130k in seizable assets, hence they are costing the government money they don’t have and some people are throwing a fit about it.

Off topic, but this is another reason why pot is illegal. Everybody knows its harmless, but a fortune is made off of it when big busts happen.

I also read mentioned by someone that Kennelly may have been supplying some LEOs until something went wrong and they took him out. I don’t buy it, but if you deal steroids to cops, get them to get all their cop friends in on it, then get somebody to do some surveillance and get evidence. Hang on to it and use it as a get out of jail free card.

You geniuses need to calm down, read what people are actually saying instead of getting your tiny testosterone depleted balls in a tither. I did not accuse this man of anything. I did not insinuate he was selling AAS to teens in any way. The conversation had spread from an isolated disc. of the incident to a wider topic of media potrayal and public perception of AAS use and it’s advocates.

I answered someones question pointing out that there are very often “victims”. Do we know that for sure in this case, no, but I never said that. As was clearly obvious to any one not juggling a pair of monkey nuts around their head in place of a brain, I was responding to somethin larger, in a purely hypothetical fashion. To finish. PL’ing and related sports have bad names because their advocates are loudmouthed fatassed inbred ignorant jackasses who THINK of themselves as some kind of tough guy.

call it what you want but i don;t care how big your bench is once you have already been busted for steroids once (this was the second time) the smart move is not to set up a lab and a pot growing operation in your house…i mean FUCK…that is straight retarded i don’t care who you are.

I’d really like to hear why you think it’s legitimate to ban steroids. You still haven’t given any reasons for that.

Could you please name a few “advocates” that are affecting public perception of powerlifting? Then name a couple of related sports and name a few of their advocates that fit this description. Then point out how similar people don’t exist in “non-related” sports. I’ll expect you to include the all major sports plus at least a couple smaller sports in your examples.

PL doesn’t have a bad name, because in the public it has no name. The large majority of people do not know what it is. How can it have a bad name when no one even knows what it is?

Generally, if I tell someone I’m a powerlifter I get “oh, that’s where you do like this, right?”

Really? I tell them I am wanting to do my first powerlifing meet, and they ask me why I would want to parade around in a banana hammock.

Who wouldn’t want to do that?

Exactly, I don’t know why this comes as a shock to people. It is literally impossible for the general public to have a consensus opinion or a perception of a sport, when they are unaware of its existence.

I’m pretty sure stories like these only upset the people that are trying to impress others and/or feel superior. Sorry guys, if that was what you were trying to do, you shouldn’t have gotten into powerlifting. Anyone who knows what powerlifting’s all about and does it because of their own love for the sport isn’t going to give a fuck that Kenelly got popped for this shit.

Let me ask – Who’s the victim of this ‘crime’?
I am not saying this guy deserves to go to jail, or anything like that. POLITICALLY speaking, I believe both substances should be legal (and yes, regulated to some degree).

HOWEVER - this guy sounds like he’s very full of himself which I get - he’s a famous powerlifter (albeit not “mainstream famous” compared to other sports)…well maybe not full of it, but rather arrogant in some statements I have read. Which is TOTALLY COOL with me. However again, you put yourself out there like that, especially in a sport like powerlifting, you gotta figure, just like any celebrity/public figure type - you may just get some undeserved, but nevertheless “close observations” on your lifestyle, etc. Who knows how folks found out? Well, it appears he grows pot and sells it and makes AAS and sells it. I have heard of brewing your own, but this sounds like a guy who sells AAS too. Even if that is not the case, growing pot, keeping inordinate amounts of cash laying around and huge amounts of AAS, and living in an apartment (vs. the seclusion of a home) - all sound like recipes to draw some attention to ones self.

Plus who knows, how do we not know one of his customers, or close friends did not rat him out? The point is, the police did not just randomly pick him out with a search warrant.

Now - alll that said, I do think all this should be legal, etc. But the fact is, it Ain’t! So he did not sound like a low-key type of guy to me, so on some level, he’s got himself to blame - not the “laws” which he broke.

I hope he gets off light and serves no time. I really do. But I am guessing he’s gonna get a harsh deal, given the amount the media is portraying him to have of both substances.

ACTUALLY - the more I read up on this A-Hole - i am surprised he was not busted sooner, which is to say, AGAIN for the same shit. F this a-hole…

Well I meant within his own world/community. To be honest the guy sounds like a total blow-hard type that drew attention to himself pretty darn easily. Not to say that he’s a celebrity per se. In fact, the dude sounds like someone who tried to convince people he is a celebrity and thus probably helped do himself in.

My 2 cents - prob worth slightly less.

I’ve poked around a little online and the word on the street is that Kennelly was busted a few months back on these charges and was waiting on a court date…and he continued running his business and he got nailed again. IF that is true, he’s really fucked.
Exactly. He was first busted in october for weed and they found the AAS and a whole bunch of other stuff. While waiting for a court date he was busted a second time in a different location with more evidence. They staked him out for weed, not AAS. There is a whole lot more to the story but I wont elaborate.

Its not about hunting down for AAS.
