*I’ve never done any type of study on myself like this, so I may leave some information out. Basically what I am going for here, is to try and share my experience with others. Maybe it could help other people with the same symptoms.
-Went to the doc’s to go over multiple problems I have been having lately. Symptoms include, over sleeping(and not sleeping well in general), lack of energy throughout the day, low self confidence, low sex drive, and overall lack of motivation to do anything.
I used to go to the gym four days a week, but for some reason i haven’t had the motivation to get back into it.
I’ve been out for two months now and I’m feeling a little depressed about it. I’ve never been in this big of a slump before, so I thought my doctor might be able to help. We’ll see how it goes.
My doctor sent me to the lab to get some blood work done. Lipid profile(periodic cholesterol test) and testosterone level. Time of blood draw was around mid-afternoon.
Results should be back within a day or two. I’ll keep you posted.

It took a little longer then expected to get the results for my testosterone level.
I’m not sure what the form of measurement is for testosterone, but I know that(according to my doctor and the lad print out) normal testosterone levels for a 25 year old male is between 48 and 270. That seems like quite a large gap. My level was 74. Below average to average.
The doctor gave me the option of using a patch of a gel. I chose the gel because i didn’t want to have a patch stuck to me all day. The RX way for Androgel 1% 5G. I am supost to apply it once a day to raise my testosterone levels.
While I am sure with is a very mild topical, I am also happy to finally try it. There is a chance that my doctor will up the dosage if testosterone levels are not improved. From what I have read on this site, I plan to stop using a day or two in advance, so that I will be able to climb to a stronger RX. That is, unless I start feeling great and am able to work out like I used to.
Mostly, I want to regain my energy that I feel I have lost since my return from Iraq in 05. I also would love to see some strong gains in the gym along the way.
Maybe it was something they put in our food, but when I was overseas, I gained 30lbs and was max flat benching 325lbs. Since then I have lost 20lbs and my current max is around 235-250lbs. But, I rarely ever bother to max out. Its almost depressing now.
If anyone has any comments or words of wisdom for me along the way, let me know.
