I guess this is why no efforts are being made to end the war; the more destruction, the greater the need for “rebuilding”. “Rebuilding” is where the BIG money gets “made”, i.e. siphoned off.

The awkward moment when you realise these billions are actually mostly in old US weapons and munitions. Because 10000 himars rockets are approximately a billiin in domestic rate and 2 bil in export rate.

If people can’t differentiate between corrupt politicians and the citizens that they deceive and rob, they sure as hell aren’t going to understand abstracta like dollar values assigned to equipment.

I will say it again. The billions spend in Ukraine are not tax payer money but 20 + years old military equipment and munitions that already exists in depos. In reference for the past year Poland has bough more of the same equipment that is donated to Ukraine. Which means there is more already existing military equipment and it is a good business for US. Perhaps the money earned from Poland for that junk can fix welfare and infrastructure, because 20 years old munitions and bradleys cant do it.

I dunno, why don’t invite Xi to take over the corrupt cesspool that, according to you, is the US? Apparently, the DoD is hopelessly corrupt money is being stolen left and right and the CCP has (at least in public) a pretty harsh stance on corruption.
From Deng onwards the Chinese have had pretty smart leaders so they’ll probably lower your taxes somewhat, do some coddling explaining that the big bad world cannot hurt you anymore, and immediately win you over (personally).
No troublesome foreign policy issues as subject nations do not get to engage in them, and they’ll probably let you LARP with guns and fight that perplexing culture war for real. Maybe there would be a CCP paramilitary wing for middle aged dudes to engage in revenge fantasies against cultural enemies real and imagined.
Why wait? Surrender your country immediately and save yourself the agony of both information and actions that may anger or upset you.

How is it Russian propaganda to want to stay out of a war that isn’t the US’s to fight? Monetarily or otherwise?
Many have held the view to stay out of other nations affairs a lot longer than this current conflict.

A. This is something we have done for centuries. The Monroe Doctrine is an early example of this as policy. And Monroe has the papal infallibility that comes with being a Founding Father, no? Also, the US benefited from the French not minding their own business.
B. As an ideology, that is, as an absolute, it will never work. If we were to have to adopted that ideology in the 1960s, we would have allowed Cuba to arm itself with nuclear missiles. JFK cited the aforementioned Monroe Doctrine during the Crisis. In the end, it can’t be a one size fits all policy but must be considered on a case by case manner.
Fair point on b) and I tend to agree. But that posed a direct threat to the US and was clear posturing for a MAD level attack. Russia talks a lot but other than their subs that have been roaming the ocean since the Cold War, no direct threats as distinct as the bay of pigs has happened.
I work in the defense industry and am a fan of a strong force as a deterrent to attack (both as a policy stance and as a selfish way to keep myself employed well).

Awhile back, I was reading a book on positive thinking and motivation, and there was a section about brainwashing techniques and phrases the North Koreans used on POWs. The very next day, one of the more extreme posters here was saying the exact same stuff the Commies told the brainwashed, suicidal POWs.
Earlier this year somebody posted an interview from the 80s with a Soviet KGB, deep-cover PYSOPs plant. Within days a few of the more extreme dudes on here were quoting his divisive nonsense like it was there own thoughts.
And last year we heard Right wing TV dudes, Twitter guys and even Political candidates repeat Putin’s words/phrases in regards to the Ukraine.
I think everyone agrees that anti-American shitheads use social media algorithms to target liberals and wokesters with targeted, destructive messages. Is it really hard to believe that they’re doing the same to conservatives and Right leaners?

I don’t follow or listen to Portnoy, at all. But I saw this video (the propaganda Fox news report version), and to cite the Washington Post these days as a “journalistic source” is laughable. The newspaper of Deep Throat is now no better than the National Enquirer; no, worse, because at least the Enquirer wink, winks when they publish their “news”.
