Russian Military Buildup Outside Ukraine

Yes. And I would think it just as silly if someone suggested he were a super badass* or regular ol’ family man.

*I guess he did have more bullets-fired-in-anger launched at him than has Ukraine’s Beggar-In-Chief-Formerly-Known-As-An-Actor

Yep. But how many out there are claiming they’re badasses or just regular family folk?

Yes. See above and above that.

The current Administration, not you.

I would really appreciate if someone explained to me how this ā€œUkraine war is a massive money laundering schemeā€ works in practice. After all, there are savvy business people on here.

Yeah, you’re wrong on that as well, but at least you’re predictably (and boringly) consistent.

There was this one Beggar-in-chief 83 years ago that spent months pleading the then-US President to send his country 50 old destroyers in a life-or-death struggle, prevailing after months and months of back-and-forth negotiations.

He was opposed by then-formidable ā€œpeace lobbyā€ in the US which were a motley collection of rabid pro-fascists and dumb left wingers (financed by a super rich auto maker) that believed that arming his country would prolong an European war.

And these ā€œpeaceniksā€ people wanted to bomb Mexico for ā€œsecurityā€ reasons even then.

As someone’s who’s tangentially involved in the problem of exporting Ukrainians grain, I can say that this is not true. Weapons shipments from Poland will continue.

The problem stems from the following issues some of which may be vaguely familiar to American readers:

  • Elections in Poland are in October

  • The most reliable part of the conservative voting base in Poland are farmers

  • Despite claiming to be pro small government anti welfare people living off the land, the farmers are taking eye watering amounts of government subsidies

  • Grain is cheap and takes a lot of space and is moved primarily on waterways (there’s a reason for all those Mississippi grain barges). Therefore, with the Black Sea export shipping routes (partially) closed rail transport drives up costs, which will continue until river routes from Ukraine to harbors in the Mediterranean are established (this is where yours truly plays a minuscule part)

  • Which means that for both Polish buyers and Ukrainians sellers it’s easier to buy/sell Ukrainian cheap grain at the shortest possible distance from Ukraine by rail - just over the border in Poland.

  • This in turn enrages Polish farmers - the conservative base - who besides aforementioned subsidies enjoy a government mandated minimum selling price (again, socialism for conservative voters, sounds familiar?)

  • This means that the ruling party in Poland has to pander to the base and make angry noises about cheap Ukrainian grain

  • The issue is low key being resolved

That sounds familiar.

More for me, less for thee! Thats the American Way!

I’ve built a few of these (maybe a hundred or two.) before being transfered to maintenance of a large coal fleet. :+1:

Yeah, my only point in that was that they have actually helped, which is great.

Even if Poland did stop this very minute, at least they did something more than hand wringing and blame shifting to justify why they shouldn’t.

America should follow Poland and refuse monetary and weapons aide to ukraine

monatery aide because its all a money laundering scheme, also take care of America first

weapons aide because they will use ut against one day, just like everyone did in the past

So about ā…“ in money/credit.

Money laundering is probably not the right word exactly. I know you get butthurt when anyone talks shit about sending money to the Ukraine.

Money is going unaccounted for and ā€œthey have no idea where it wentā€ (this isn’t new or exclusive to the Ukraine).

Our DoD failed its 5th audit last year. Over $3 trillion and counting unaccounted for.

I’m sure there is wire fraud, money laundering, and other crimes going on within that $3 trillion that is just ā€œmissingā€ and they can’t explain to auditors where it went.

But hey that’s cool just tax us more and keep on keeping on. We aren’t in record debt with skyrocketing inflation or anything.

And I’m sure money is coming back to folks in various ways.

These people are smart and have been doing this for decades.

As always the average American will get shit on while we send tax payer money across the globe like it’s nothing.

I can only hope the next president fights and puts a stop to this bullshit. I know unlikely, but a kid can dream.

Once upon a time, My wife was a transfer agent for BNYM. She said she was always taking calls for this one company that people were VERY happy with. That was around 2009, 2010. This is that company.

Plenty of people believe, or did believe, that Reagan, Trump and Arnold were those things.

Don’t worry guys Biden is making sure a country halfway around the world has clean water, but not Americans, his own citizens.

This is the kind of shit that makes Americans say fuck the Ukraine and any other country that our government is sending money to while our country rots and citizens suffer as they pile more debt on us.

All while the government is in danger of a shut down, but Biden made sure to let everyone know that payments to the Ukraine wouldn’t stop even in the event of a government shut down.

I’d be happy to laugh at their beliefs as well…

I’ve never heard anyone make similar claims about Reagan or Trump. I thought people like Reagan for things he did(or said) as a politician, and even Trump’s fans admit that he’s just a rich kid(at least, I think they do).

Arnold was a successful bodybuilder-not that it makes him a badass or anything-first…,he didn’t begin as an actor…I’ll be happy to retract my statement about Zelenskyyyy if he has a similar background even to Arnold.

We’re even inviting ā€œimmigrantsā€ to come here and providing them with housing, medical care and money.

Today the Clinton Global Initiative announced their very own program to rebuild Ukraine. The US is sending the World Bank $25 Billion. Then, the World Bank is sending the money to the Clintons. Then the Clintons send it to the Ukraine…

Now this is 10 days before the government is supposed to shut down from being broke!

Nothing shady to see here - at all.

Kick Backs.

I think the type of corruption in this case would be some kind of Kick back scheme.

The (allegedly) corrupt Politicians can’t just give (more of) the tax payers money to themselves. So they use their positions to give tons of money to Ukrainians and Defense Contractors. And then the Ukrainians and Defense Contractors ā€œkick backā€ some of the money to the Politicians.

Which makes it dirty money that needs to be laundered.

This is where the ā€œmoney launderingā€ claims originate.
