I realize this is old, but…
It wasn’t a mandate or a choice. It was text book coercion.
One of America’s largest hurdles (imo) is our current culture of coercion.

If I were an armchair psychologist I’d argue that your laser focused anger towards regular, family men being brave in difficult circumstances stems probably from daddy issues (left for to buy a packet of smokes and never came back, left mommy for a twice-divorced waitress, regular stuff like that) and therefore you fawn over proxies - aggressive bullies as you’ve most likely lacked a male role model in your life.
But here’s a catch - it’s not about Zelensky. In a (very chaotic) democracy it’s not about one man that everything falls apart. If Zelensky was gone for one reason or another, there’s be someone else in line. The next president of Ukraine is most likely a super popular Korean from Mykolaiv.
So I’d suggest preparing in advance and fine tuning some mediocre (we all know that your output is very mediocre, even when it comes to quips and insults) talking points against Koreans to prepare for the next guy.
If???
Whats the joke about Zhelensky? The dude literaly is Joe Rogan of Ukraine and saved his country by staying against all odds, so the Russians wouldnt be able to implement a puppet government. Later he gave it all he has to bring Europe and US to his side and their donations.
So, you are saying he won’t come out of this conflict insanely rich off US taxpayer (and euro) money?
I am not saying he is not brave or manly or whatever. I don’t know the man, but he is running one of the most corrupt countries EVER.
Our own state department under Obama notated as much.
I can see that. Ukraine does have some serious history of corruption. And a dubious present. Thats undeniable.
I just hate to see regular people (the actual citizens) have war waged upon them by a foreign government with a Loooong history of just straight up mass murder by the millions.
Its like theres no distinction between the politicians and the population.
If the Wagner Group simply rolled into Kiev, captured Ukrains heads of state, then hung them in Red Square I probably wouldn’t have much to say.
The regular every day folks are always the ones that suffer.
It has been fun to watch the Wagner Group and Putin eat each other though.
There’s no way of know what Zelensky is deep down or what he will become. But things won’t get better if you don’t give people the benefit of the doubt. There are people in Eastern Europe that want to make it better. Maybe he’s one of them. Maybe he will stay one of them. He’s shown that he definitely is willing to put his neck on the line for something that he thinks is bigger than himself. That’s a lot better than the alternative.
Yeah. Thats also why I don’t mind seeing Russia make economic pacts with China.
Its really two ticks wrestling for a bite into the other.
I could be wrong on that though.
Obama would know.
Yeah that has gotten us in the shit show we are in now.
People suck, especially politicians.
Can you name one? Not if you have a shred of honesty in you.
The guy is an actor. He’s not a “regular family man.” What has he done that’s brave? He’s got the entirety of the world outside of Russia backing “his” every move.
Care to unpack that pile of incomprehensible gibberish?
He’s an actor that made a career out of playing a jester/fool on Russian TV pre-2014. He owned a very successful production company that made tons of game shows and romcoms for the Russian speaking market. He’s still married to a woman he went to high school with and with whom he has two kids. I don’t know how that is supposed to be mutually exclusive with “actor”
He was also hopelessly naive thinking that a) his showbiz buddies in Moscow are his buddies and b) that they represent Russia.
On the first day of invasion, the Administration offered to evacuate him and his family. The easy way out. A government-in-exile (I’m sure 'Muricans would have provided a generous stipend to assuage their guilt) somewhere comfortable in Western Europe, occasional slick youtube video about the sufferings of Ukrainians in Russian torture camps, travels around the globe meeting world dignitaries… Basically like that Venezuelan chick that lives in NYC, travels a lot, meets world leaders and pretends she’s the president in exile.
Those were the days when ad hoc volunteers (and ex-IDF volunteers) were fighting GRU hit squads in the Kyiv city center and when the complete consensus of European (and US) governments was that Zelenskyy will be dead in 48 hours max.
And he didn’t take the evac offer and a chance for a cushy existence in the West. He stayed at the time when everyone in his inner circle (including him) was convinced (with very good reason) that they’ll be dead in a matter of hours. His very reckless public appearances in the first chaotic days bolstered public morale and turned the tide of the battle for Kyiv.
Because being a man is not lifting weights, training BJJ, taking TRT, being a trad, collecting guns for a civil war that will never happen, wearing sunglasses indoors, or driving an expensive car (leased in case of most manosphere gurus).
It’s about making the most difficult - and morally right - course of action even if it means putting yourself in harm’s way.
At the beginning of the invasion, the Biden administration was sending exclusively weapons for a post occupation insurgency campaign, thinking that Russia will prevail in a matter of days or weeks.
Only after four months of full scale war did NATO start sending heavy weapons.
So were Reagan, Trump and Schwarzenegger.
So was Ronnie Ray-gun, and he’s conservative royalty.
Don’t forget Senator Fred Thompson: Fred Thompson - Wikipedia
Do you use pcp as a preworkout?
What guilt?
I have zero guilt about Ukraine.
Unless you are talking about the politicians, which they should - but I’d say they don’t feel guilty about anything other than missing out on more money laundering.
But they did help.
