Russian Military Buildup Outside Ukraine

Life would be much more peaceful and better without smartphones and laptops in my opinion.

The world doesn’t work according to luddite anectodes. You’re just confirming my ā€œhey, I get electricity from the sockets in my houseā€ analogy.

I’m sure the US, EU and China will stop a massive semiconductor trade war if you explain them in clear terms that you find smartphones a nuisance and illustrate this with the fact that Burundians have more than enough phones.

I couldn’t care less about ending this.

I actually don’t.

I was actually just pointing out that the world’s poorest country still has a lot of cell phones because you threw out this gem of an argument against the U.S. minding its own business again:

I love it when foreigners say that the USA isn’t doing enough.

Meanwhile, in reality, I can look around and see how everything has gotten so much worse in the last 20 years.

We are presently in the process of raising the least healthy, most self centered and least prepared generation in our nation’s history. Good luck buying even a modest home, college graduates.

Funny how it’s the same people who ran our economy into the ground, took the kids out of school and ran the unvaccinated out of public life who are telling us how important it is to run our country even further into the ground.

The same people who had nothing to say when that sham medical treatment they tried to force on everyone didn’t work.

It’s a sure bet that those folks do not care about needles on your streets or public schools guiding children into a life of despair and disability under the guise of Gender Inclusivity.

They will call you silly for noticing and wave their Ukrainian flag.

Wave a flag? Bro, if you ain’t WEARING a Ukrainian flag while Zelensky’s cum dribbles down your face, you’re nothing but a Russian operative.

Edit: And I don’t want to miss this:

What do you mean, ā€œnothing to say?ā€ Man, we told everyone it didn’t work because there wasn’t a 100% vaccination rate.

Feel like we could expand this to young adults even, at least in our neck of the woods. Lots of people I work with have basically given up on the home buying experience. For them to live within 30 minutes of our workplace (you can probably guess which city) entry level homes are pretty much tear-down quality. Sucks watching good people who are ā€œdoing everything rightā€ get such a kick in the nuts.

I have good news then. There will be a few dozen houses going on the market very soon near me. Apparently some people don’t want to be located next to the new ā€œtransitional housingā€ that is going to result in 142 new neighbors who may or may not be mentally ill drug addicts.

Our new abstract sculpture artwork we got in the park does a great job of giving your kids something to look at besides the man injecting drugs in a pile of filth.

We’re not stretching our budget to send extra billions to them, they are trading partners and strategic allies involved in mutually beneficial relationships to a degree that Ukraine was not and never will be, because it’s a corrupt shithole where people like Hunter Biden go to extract millions for themselves.

America has done more than enough for Europe, especially when Europe spent the last 30 years pretending that war won’t happen again. This is after decades of letting guys like my dad spend his teenage years on the East German border to be one of the first to die if the Soviets poured through the Fulda gap, and then letting guys like my dad and guys like me continue to pay to protect Europe up until the modern day.

Meanwhile, the situation where I live continues to deteriorate in ways I never would have imagined as a teenager in the 1990’s, when it looked like things were ready to really take off.

And Ukraine looks like a WWI meat-grinder with plenty of meat left to grind. The last thing in the world I want for my 22 year-old is to get sent into a meat grinder across some ocean.

I make much higher than average salary (I am single income family with 3 kiddos - currently) and in my area I was very lucky to buy a house when I did. Six months later I was priced out. That was 7 years ago. Can’t imagine trying to do it now.

I think I mentioned it recently in another thread, but after I graduate from college next year I will be lucky to find a starter home for less than $3-400k in my town. Considering I don’t plan on going into any high paying fields, home ownership looks unlikely. Bit of a bummer. Family and I have the know-how to build most of a house ourselves but the cost of materials still makes it an expensive venture.

How do you plan on helping Ukraine?

I know the comment was a joke but I’ve given some to my church to go towards a church there doing work with kids.

My religious convictions take precedence over any economic/political opinions I have. I’m understanding of both sides of the argument here, but I’m not eloquent or educated enough to defend either side.

One of the best men I know just got back from using his vacation time to be in Poland so he can do charitable acts for Ukrainian refugees, all organized through the Catholic Church.

Buy a house with a gardening yard in a village nearby. I made the mistake to buy an apartment in my town, although I bought it very cheap without credit but savings only and parents helped.

I just bought a 2023 car, but my next goal is to buy a house with 1000 sqm back yard in a village near my town. My wife was rised in a farmer family, so we are going to make a garden with 10-15 chicken and 2-3 calfs per year. Organic veggies, fruits, beef, eggs and chicken. Saving lots of money on food, clean air and some nice gardening hobby with bbq every non winter night.

I don’t know where you are from, but in America, we call villages nearby suburbs, and they cost more.

Lol…This is why non-Americans should shut up.

That’s not much space for that much livestock. Also, there are zoning restrictions when it comes to animals.

In commie states for sure

Well, not everyone believes the smell of manure will increase property values.
