OK, I’m considering doing the modified Bear from the evil russian (the bodybuilding version). Yes, I’ve read all the stuff in the search engine… what I’d like to actually know are some results. There were a whole lot of people who said they were going to start it, but very few who gave anything in the ways of numbers (body composition and strength-wise).
Ah, too bad. I’d like to come up with a new, interesting program for when I get back to the states, but I’ve only got my own (meager) home gym to work with.
It was really boring doing all those sets of the same thing and with only 2 basic exercises but if you only have a basic home set up then surely renegade training is the way to go? my mate did his renegade stuff at home and got great results, just gotta be creative.
by the way although the bear routine sucked, power to the people worked really well for me , go figger!
What was that routine? Were your results just strength, or size as well?
Yeah, I was thinking about renegade training, I guess I should revisit that idea. I looked into trying it awhile ago, and I can’t remember what the problem I had with it was… perhaps that it took too much time, or something.
The power to the people routine was really simple and used the 2x5 system that pav promotes in his book. first set at that days max and then 90% of that for the second set. just two exercises deads and bench (if i ever have so little time to train in life i will choose this routine but with dips instead). Size gains = non, strength gains = 20kg on deads and 10kg on bench so pretty good for two cycles (one month) done in a non-linear fashion.
now for the bear i used the version that basically has you doing 100, 90 and then 80% 'til form drops, didn;t work too well and just bored me but i see you are looking at the bodybuilding version (I haven’t tried that) but look at CT’s game plan as it is based around the same sort of thing i.e. keep volume high to grow.
