'Rumors of My Demise are Greatly Exagerated'

Well, let’s see. I ‘officially’ finished my deload week as of yesterday (Thurs). Intended or otherwise, it’s done. This is what I did…NOTHING!!! Grad Party Sat, Work Sun, study for quiz Mon (tanked it but I’m dropping this one), study differently for quiz Tue (Aced it, 22 outta 22), study Wed and Thur for exam Thurs.

Me thinks I got a B, which will give me an A for the class. I’ll know Tues. Back to the weights later this morning. More to come. I start a new class Monday. English Comp I. Like I know how to speak spanish, er, english.

English comp…yuck. Good work on the tues quiz. I’ll let the mon quiz slide this time.

Nice bench numbers.

Congrats on the graduation of your daughters. I’m there with you.
I’ve decided to take a few classes. Will start a foreign language class in a few months.
Its been a long time.

Congrats also on the bench. No need to look back now.

At our age and size, anything over 225 for reps is scary to most observers. The young guys are convinced we will need CPR and the old guys wonder what is going to break. I have no idea what the women are thinking.

Thanks. I think half of the looks are from people who are saying to themselves ‘Why is he touching his chest when he benches?’

this is so true about the benching

Went to gym to squat this morning. Power out. Nice blow last night. So, went to the football field and ran bleachers. 5 up and downs and 1 around front is 1 lap. Did 7 laps. Might be an off day thing. I like it better than a treadmill.

Nice work in the gym and the classroom. Looks like things are going well all around.
And great job with the cardio.

The bleacher running sounded like a blast, ran a ton of those back in the day.

It’s something to stave off the ‘I hate cardio’ demons. I’ve got a couple of friends that run the stairs at the RenCen in downtown Detroit and the stairs at a place call Bloomers Park (One great big set of stairs). Now they are insane. They keep wanting me to go. I’d probably barf.

Happy Father’s Day to all dads, new and old.

Squat day 5’s

Box Squat
165x5
190x5
215x8

GM’s
135x5
150x5
170x5

Leg Press
3px5
4px5
4p+25x5

Walkouts 5 count
275
295
315

Legs were sore today. Mostly hips. Anyways, did bleachers today…8 laps.

Running the bleachers. That sure brought back some memories. Always thought that was a course they taught coaches. “Laps and Bleacher Running 101”. Good workouts.

I agree although it is cool when we’re ‘cardio-vasculary’ in shape fat guys!!! That can be a real irritant to some people. I like being an irritant.

Nice! Except fat guys call it GPP I don’t know why, sounds cooler than Cardio I guess…lol

Nice work, RL.
Cardio AND it helps build explosiveness. Great choice.

Ncie squat session, I too always try to find ways to do something besides standard cardio.

Colin - I’m with you. From now on, it’s GPP (ginormous person panting). Semi-ginormous anyways.

Thanks Skip. Although, explosive is relative!!! Your GPP actually looked more fun. At least for the chitlins anyway.

Thanks Joe. I’m sticking with this at least till winter.

I decided to do a kinda, sorta low carb thingy during the week with a sorta kinda carb up on the weekend. Nothing super strict. Hence the kinda, sorta. Need to drop some fat. Weight doesn’t really bother me. Just want to be a little less jiggly. Say, 10 or so lbs of fat. Since I’m at 220, should be not too hard.
