They started out that way. They are on their way to becoming work!!!

Thanks, JJ

Skipped the mental barrier…
305x1

Not an all time pr (325), but best in about 3 yrs. All time looking to fall, sooner than later I think!

Dips
45x5
70x3
80x3

I think these are really helping my pressing, at least so far.

Krocs
5x10@80

Had to start strapping. Seem to be having a grip problem with left hand, as in something in the tendons. Have to start doing some grip work I think.

Iso Pulldowns
200x5
230x3
260x2

Some brief ab work and done!

Breakin the century barrier, great benchin. All time PR will come soon.

Damn nice benching Rug. You are crusing along. Way to pop the 300 cherry

Thanks J-Willy.

Skwatt Day 5/3/1

Box Skwatts
Warmups to 135

195x1 Working off a 200 Training Max. Looks like I’m bumping it up from here.
215x1
225x1
245x1
255x1
275x1 Guess I’m on the right track. Never tried a Box Skatt PR so this is it!!! Still ascarred to free skwatt cuz of the tendon issue in my right leg. Afraid I won’t be able to stop at bottom, or won’t hit parallel for the same reason. So, Box it is.

And…Done for the day. Time constraints.

Hey good looking squatting rl.

Nice work Rug! A 275 box is awesome!!

Great trap bar deads, bench and box squats. All the numbers seem to be moving in the right direction. I hope your knee holds up.

Trying to catch up, RL.

Congrats on the bench PR! Crossing 300 again is big!

Box squats look good as well. They are a different animal, aren’t they!?

School going okay?

You might just need to reset that squat max, there, boss.

Thanks OG, Eco, JG, LS

LS - For whatever reason, 3 bills was for the longest time a mental block for me. That’s why I just decided to skip it this time  As for Boxes, for reasons unknown to me, they don’t irritate the thigh-hip tie-in in front so I’m beginning to really like doing them. School…let’s see…my 2 oldest daughters got their diplomas last night. That was cool. Me, my grades are like this… 3 quizzes c,b,a, one exam, a. It’s amazing how many of the brats, er, kids, in my class are simply trying to get 'c’s for transfer purposes. I may have considered that when I was their age had I gone to school then, now a ‘c’ to me just doesn’t get it. ‘Getting by’ is not in my vocab anymore.

Lot’s o cable work for lats and tris. Some plate raises - 2x10@45 I like these. I may start doing some BBB style for delts for a while. I was gonna do the main lift, then something similar but diff for my second, but every day that I go to do delts, and it doesn’t matter which day, there are just too many people doing weird things in the rack or the smith. Not a complaint, just an observation. These are where I do BTN presses. Ah well, there is always my garage.

I’m thinking of splitting the diff. Next up is a 3 wheel Box.

Great job. And I know what you mean about C’s not cutting it. I think the difference is age and motivation. They are just trying to get through…to the next party. This is your livelihood you’re looking at. The more you learn now, the easier it will be later.
It’s funny. So many people consider IT a young man’s game. The average age in our department (technical side) is over 40. 2 folks in their late 20’s, 2 folks in their early 30’s, 6 folks in their 40’s and 5 folks in their 50’s.

Funny you should mention that. I read an article where they were having a discussion about the differences in the generations. This gen wants top money, less work and more free time and they want to work on their schedule, and they ask for this crap at the first interview. Nothing like the ‘Instant Gratification Generation’. It’s no wonder they have a harder time finding jobs than we tend to. For the most part.

Ready for grad party tommorrow. Just family for now. Kids will have their own in July.

Lots of good work in here, Rug, great job.

congrats on passing the bench mental barrier. The ones we set up in our minds are the highest to get over. That’s why it sometimes helps to drink before you lift. Just kidding. Kind of

“Youth is wasted on the young” comes to mind, but that somehow doesn’t fit. You’re probably right, though I can’t figure out where my oldest came from. Her GPA is 4.2 or thereabouts, and all she does is study. I hope my other kids follow her lead. And I really hope they all get scholarships.
