Also, if no one caught it, GSP’s fight camp is about 90% sure that he WILL NOT be able to fight Hughes for the Welterweight belt due to a serious elbow injury he suffered during training.

Also, Pride offered Tim Sylvia to fight Fedor before the Coleman offer, but he backed out.
When asked if Pride was interested in doing a Pride vs. UFC, they said that they have been trying to for awhile, but the UFC is not interested.
Baby J for the title! Sucks that GSP is injured, shitty way to lose a title shot, but his camp is also reporting that they’ll reevaluate wednesday so it isn’t definite yet.
I wonder who Tyson would fight? I’d sure hate to get caught by one of those left hooks with the mma gloves on, it’d be lights out…of course he probably sucks on the ground.
Tyson should fight Bob Sapp. That would be a freak show that would get major publicity.
I really hope GSP recovers, but it looks bad. Hughes-GSP II is something I have been looking forward to all year. I if they would consider throwing Sanchez at Hughes if GSP can’t do it. BJ would be sweet, though.

I’m not even sure why the UFC would promote Silva/Liddell… they seem to have everything to lose (unless I’m underestimating the pervasiveness of Pride in the US).

Definitely on the Sapp v. Tyson fight. I’m sure you all know that they had a little rumble in the ring after the Battle at the Belagio fight between Kimo and Sapp. I doubt it would ever happen though.
I would like to see Tyson fight, although I don’t really think he would do that well. They should have him fight Ken Shamrock. Haha imagine that, two of the most well-known fighters in their respective sports that have pretty much tainted their legendary status going at it.
As far as the GSP update, I guess they are saying now that it is a hamstring issue and not an elbow and will be re-evaluating it like someone pointed out previously.
Regardless, this Pride fight-card looks ridiculous.

Yeah, Bob Sapp has called out Tyson several times. I think The Beast would tool him at this point. I imagine they would do a fight under special rules, maybe 1 round MMA one round boxing or something. Kind of like LeBanner-Sapp. I guess it just depends on Sapp’s situation with K-1 and how much of slap to the face DSE wants to give K-1, and how low Tyson wants to sink for money.

The former world champion in the heavyweight category signed a contract with the japanese organization PRIDE, who on October 21 is organizing a big show in the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Tyson’s opponent in the main bout, for which it is not known if it will be held under Pride, kickboxing or professional boxing rules, it still not certain, but in the Japanese media they’re already speculating how in fact it will be Cro-cop.

As far as I have read the Tyson bout, whoever faces will, basically, be a boxing exhibition.
I?m sure if Pride could get away with it they would have Tyson fight a Tiger (or Bear) in a no-rules match. However as far as I know Tyson has no interest in doing anything that isn?t under boxing rules, or rules that are very similar.
