Hope you get better soon. Sounds like a good excuse to avoid the mother-in-law!
Food will fix that cold right up. I suggest BBQ ribs.

It was Old Ezra Rare, I have had a bottle for 30 years now. Haven’t had much of a stomach for food, so it was all I could do to make a shrimp etoufee. Ruined it with whole grain brown rice. I hope Harry doesnt read this and revoke my sawamp rat union card
Sounds like you caught a real nasty cold. I’ve never tried booze to help with a cold. Nyquil will do the trick if you’re having trouble sleeping. Hope you feel better soon.

Of course, it is worth noting that Nyquil has alcohol. It’s just a lower proof ![]()

yeah, yeah, yeah. I never did read the ingredients. It just kicked my ass and put me to sleep.
I am with Soldog…tequila!! I dont think it helps with the cold, but it you makes you forget that you have one…and a whole bunch of other things as well! Good luck JW…

Problem with Tequila is, well at least with me, once I get to a certain point, I either get depressed or belligerent. Neither of which is desirable.
Bastardly wimpy bench training; dateline Tuesday, 4:20 am
Bench press: barx20, 135x12, 2x185x10, 190x8, 2x210x6, 190x7
Pec Deck 135x12, 135x8
Push up 8,5
OH triceps with the rope 3x135x10
I tried, but I’m still feeling the effects of my cold. After my 3rd bench sweat I broke out in a cold sweat. I finished the bench work and half hearted went through some more chest and tri’s training. After the extensions I gave up and went home to get ready for work. I’m going to take it easy, just go in and get the blood moving around. It felt good to be training, I just had no stamina. I hate a damn cold gets me like this. We are having a heat wave, it was 37 degrees at 4:13 am!
JW’s morning thought: It’s to bad all the people who know how to run this country are busy driving taxicabs or tending bar.

Whiskey, Scotch, Rye, and Bourbon. I’m not much on that white ‘licker’… what ever happened to Contac Cold pills… they were the bomb!!
At least you got in there and put the work in. The body will thank you. Of course, at this point, hitting the gym must be habit. You wouldn’t know what to do if you didn’t go lift.

That’s hitting the nail smack dab on the head!
Props, JW…getting in the gym before first light is one thing, doing it when you feel like “muck” is another level of commitment! Well done…

Oh brooder, why fo ya go mess up de etouffee like tat fo? Maybe you no have de raisin up proper? I forgive you. I like it made the shrimp, too. My brother makes a damn good one with chicken, too. Actually, I’ve been telling my wife for years that brown rice is better for her but being of the oriental persuasion she refuses to give up her favorite white brand. Glad your feeling better.
Bastardly weak back day: dateline Thursday, 4:17 am
1 arm DB OHP: 35x8, 3x45x8
Kroc rows: 3x110x8
Hammer low: 3x90x8
Lat pull down: 3x135x8
Hise shrug: 3x315x20
I’m still feeling the effects of my cold. It seems with all this climate change they are getting harder to recover from. At least I didn’t work into a cold sweat this morning. Went up on the Krocs on a lark. Probably should have used the 100’s and increased the reps. I added in the 1 arm db over head presses. That was fun. 45’s were all i could manage with my left arm. I’m a weakling…
Our bank saga continues. It’s starting to weigh on my Dad. I know so because he is starting to act like me. In one of our meetings I told the bankers, “Damn, y’all just reached up and grabbed us by the short and curly’s. This deal sucks!!!” Well, that statement got me banned from future meetings unless I promised only to speak when spoken too. I guess at 48, I am still 8.
Yesterday my dad pulled our Admin VP aside and told him to write the CEO of the bank a letter and tell them how they pissed away a 50 year relationship with a customer that never has missed a payment. Our guy can stick a knife in you with a letter. They move legislators and get incompetent docs fired. They can calm the seas. Then my Dad added the kicker, “I want you to take an ad out and publish it in the papers”… Damn… My Dad is me
JW’s morning comment: There are three ways of losing money: racing is the quickest, women the most pleasant, and sawmilling the most certain.
Nice work, Wilson. I think you did right going up on the Krocs. The back will grow from it and the grip is getting used to a heavier load.
I still need to try the Hise Shrugs…
So, have you told your Dad that he is banned from any further public displays?
At least your righteous anger was displayed in private.
Good work, J-W. Keep those Krocks moving up.
But now you got me all riled up. F’n bankers.

HAHA my dad’s was in private, just among our people. Hell I TOLD the bankers I didnt like being grabbed by my short and curlys! He is the boss and has all the votes. We let him do as he wants…
