Saturday morning workout
Rubber band dislocates: 20 reps
YTWL: 8lbs
Tbar rows: 4x180x6
Lat pull down: 4x130x8
Upside down inverted push up thingies in the Smith: 4xBWx6
Kroc row: 4x85x6
Chest supported row: 4x145x6
We are back home from the beach. Everybody is sad to be home except for the wimpy dog Elvis, He hates the beach…Go figure. This morning was just an average “pull day” nothing remarkable to report. Now if it will stop thunder storming I can break out the Bush Hog and mow my grass. I think the neighbors are tired of my knee high grass!!
JW’s morning thought: JW thinks animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

Is that some sort of medieval torture technique? If not, it sure sounds like it should be…
Nice work j-willy.

Yep, I know about the clothes thing. No more torn greasy clothes for me either. But I can’t live without my Red Wings. Thats the best steel toe shoe made[/quote]
I 2nd the Red Wings. A bit pricey, but once you wear them, you know where the extra money went. I’ll never buy cheapo boots again…and a bonus…made in U.S.A.

I think I saw this move in a XXX movie once. Looked like it hurt.

Now y’all all know I’m just some eastern NC swamp rat, I dont know the technical names of this stuff. I put my feet on a bench and set the bar on the smitty machine and do some kind of pull up. If you can flip me over it looks like a push up… Well sorta… I guess…
Sunday morning workout
Rubber band dislocates: 20 reps
YTWL: 8 lbs
Speed bench with bands: Barx20, 135x10, 185x8, 4x205x3x3 (4 sec pause between mini sets)
Incline DB press: 3x55x12
Floor press: 225x8, 2x275x3, 2x295x1
Incline reversed CGP in the Smith: 3x114x12
Triceps push down: 3x75x15
Reverse DB flys: 3x 45x8
Assistance day. I was trying to push of the speed bench pretty hard, I liked the progress of the workout. I was hoping for doubles on the floor presses. the shoulder is a little gimpy. I think this may be the new-new normal for that. I didn’t feel like I had much left in the tank after leaving this morning.
The family and I have returned from the beach, and settling back to the normal life. My cousin is at the beach with his family. his daughter goes to some gifted magnet school in Jacksonville, Fla ( where they all live) and she brought one of her classmates with her. She is hearing impaired, her parents are totally deaf and she has never been away from Jacksonville. So this is her first adventure. I think its kind of cool they did that. I never imagined my cousin being so altruistic. I guess I’m going to have to see him this week. I’d ride my bike down there today, but those crazy Yankee drivers scare the hell out of me this time of year. I need to ride in a pack to make a bigger target for the SOB’s.
JW’s Statement of the day: Psychiatrists say that 1 of 4 people are mentally ill. Check 3 friends. If they’re OK, you’re it.
Nice floor presses j-willy. Well, okay, nice workout in general. The floor presses really jumped out though.
That’s really cool about your cousins friend/classmate. I can only imagine what it is going to be like for her. There’s a big world out there.
Monday morning workout
Rubber band dislocates: 20 reps
YTWL: 8lbs
Barbell complex: 7 sets 7 reps
Treadmill interval: 20 minutes
I am back trying to really push myself on these conditioning days. I hate the cardio still… The complexes wax my ass, intervals are just the knife in my back and do me in. Intervals were done while listening to Mother’s Finest, Sidewinder, Head East, the Outlaws and English Beat played on the Ipod. While the Girls Gone Wild infomercial was playing, the interval was tolerable. But the damn Oreck infomercial just took it all out of me. I’m switching channels back to ESPN or the Weather Channel next time
JW’s morning question: If Wyle E. Coyote had enough money to buy all that ACME crap, why didn’t he just buy dinner?
Tuesday morning workout
Squats in the smith: 115x20, 135x10, 185x8, 225x5, 2x245x5, 2x265x3
Floor wipers: 3 sets 10 reps
Decline leg raises: sets of 20, 16, and 20
Legs felt a little rubbery when I left the gym. It’s hard to get pleased about a Smith Squat. I was doing some Zerchers from the floor in the past. I got called down about that before, I may just say Screw it and put them back in again.
Foggy dreary day today here. I’m kind of wondering if there isn’t some Twilight Zone, space time continuum thing happening with summer this year. The sunlight is changing color and the black birds are swarming, the corn is turning brown, the daughter starts school in 20 days. Autumn is fast approaching and I’m not liking it at all. What happened to summer?
JW’s question of the day: If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why the hell is there a stupid song about him?
Summer was lame this year. Leaving for work this morning it felt like a fall day. My lawn has never looked so good in July and early August.

Hate to be the fly in the ointment but I am rather pleased with the summer. We haven’t had nearly as many days above 100 degrees as we normally do. It has been a pleasant surprise.
yeah, been cool and wet here in the desertlands, too. I drove across wyoming last week, and I’ve never seen it look so green this time of year. everything should be dead, burnt and brown. but its green as ireland. 'course, you southerners are used to that, with all the green-ness. its wrong in the desert though.
Welcome to GLOBAL WARMI…I mean, CLIMATE CHANGE!!! (it’s not supposed to get cooler, is it? - dammit! Why didn’t I get the memo?)
We endure 9 months of Winter up here to relish in the 3 short summer months we get. This year is the 5th rainiest summer on record at 16.5" AND IT’S ONLY THE 1ST WEEK OF AUGUST!!! Heck, I usually turn the furnace back on in early September… ![]()
Tuesday evening workout
bench warm ups: Barx20, 115x15, 135x10, 225x5, 245x5
2 board bench: 2x275x5, 2x295x2, 2x305x2, 2x315x1
Overhead tricep rope pull down thingies I read about somewhere: 3x50x15
Reverse fly: 3x35x15
I guess all my 2 board work are PR’s. Since this is the first time doing them. I need to cut a 7/4 piece. My sticking point is at the one board point. 295 and 305 motored up, 315 was a chore. I can see more board work in my immediate future.
JW’s Question for the night: What disease did cured ham actually have?
Swine flu, of course.
Good benching you’re going over 300 without the boards real soon. Love the overhead tricep ext myself.

Ba-dum-pum!
Can’t do any of that extension stuff anymore. Feels like the tendons are going to come right the heck off my elbows.

I have a similar problem with my left elbow on OH tricep ext. and db skullcrushers.
Really nice pressin’ j-willy. That BP is really on the move!
