WASHINGTON (AP) �?? Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani interrupted his speech to the National Rifle Association Friday to take a phone call from his wife, Judith.

“Let’s see now, this is my wife calling, I think,” Giuliani said, pulling his ringing cell phone from his jacket pocket.

“Hello, dear,” he said, speaking into the microphone on the podium. “I’m talking to the members of the NRA right now. Would you like to say hello?”

The audience of about 500 gun owners at a downtown Washington hotel laughed a little as she appeared to decline.

He concluded the call with, “I love you. I’ll call you as soon as I’m finished. Have a safe trip. Talk to you later. I love you.”

Giuliani has answered his wife’s cell phone call a couple of times, including during a June appearance in Florida. It wasn’t planned, his campaign said.

“What you saw today was a candidate in a spontaneous moment on the campaign trail,” Giuliani spokeswoman Maria Comella said.

Judith Nathan is Giuliani’s third wife.

As a Rudy fan, I must agree that this must not happen again. Even if real, it appears forced.

However, I’d like to give a special kiss my ass to liftus and nominal. You tools are going to end up either not voting, writing in whatever elmer fudd/ron paul joke you think makes you look “intellectual,” or voting for hillary.

As for gates, you are going to have to choose between Rudy and rodham. It’s going to be that simple.

I’ve predicted that Rudy would have to alter his gun stance. Now, he’s doing it.

Are we really supposed to think Rudy doesn’t know how to shut off his cell phone?

Or, maybe, are we supposed to think his wife isn’t aware that he’s going to be making a speech?

So, whether or not it was just some schmo staging a call, which may not be impossible to find out, this guy is a douche. Somebody in the Telco industry really needs to dig up some telephone records and scope this out.

Who wants to lay odds that this type of information is already in someones pocket – in the off chance that Rudy were to become a contender?

I’ve never voted for a dem in my life, but up until she decided to dehumanize us all by by putting a price on our heads and forcing us to buy health care, I’d have voted for her over Rudy. Yeah, you’re probably right. And in the end Rudy is going to be our president. As I’ve said before, cowardly Americans are looking for a king. They’ll all get in lockstep with Rudy if he’ll keep them safe. He won’t change a thing. He’ll make it a little bit worse and his successor will make it a little bit worse for about 20 years before some brave American helps us hit the reset button.

As far as him changing his gun stance, why do you trust him? Do you think he actually believes in gun rights now? Come on man. JeffR, I’m being serious here. I guess I still come out ahead ):.

Mike, I appreciate your approach to this issue. You might be surprised if I told you that I can understand your apprehension.

However, I must be in the minority on this board. I view the struggle against against radical Islam as the number one issue facing the U.S. today.

The NUMBER ONE ISSUE. It’s ramifications are dizzying.

Of all the candidates, I trust Rudy to deal effectively with this. That means doing whatever is necessary to make sure that nukes/sarin don’t end up in the hands of lixy’s pals.

I understand that there will be some old dogmas that will be challened.

However, I trust that our checks and balances will allow us to weather this storm.

This is a totally new kind of war. The strategy and the tactics must evolve. Now the enemy attacks whenever he has the weaponry. No warning. Just death and destruction.

I am quite frightened and chagrined when I hear some intelligent people supporting ron paul’s approach to this issue.

WE CANNOT RETREAT INTO FORTRESS AMERICA. It won’t work. They’ll come after us. Worse, they are probably already here.

Now Mike, I’ve written most of this in the past. I’m not going to rehash all of it. However, we have a completely different outlook on this war.

I spend quite a bit of time gameplanning and working to prevent attacks. If you guys knew just how easily some very nasty weapons are acquired and used, I’ll bet you’d be more frightened.

In summary, I don’t agree with everything Rudy says or does. However, I’m 100% behind him in his determination to kill bin laden and others who are our MORTAL ENEMIES.

Of all the candidates, I see him willing to track them all down. Kill all he can. Thwart them before they attack. Go to the American people time and again with updates.

However, I understand that I won’t know everything going on. In fact, in an information war, I don’t think it prudent to tell me everything. I’m going to have to trust in both Rudy and the other members of our Republic to do the right thing.

It’s the only way to win this kind of war.
