If being a professional fighter is such a game changer then Ronda should be able to beat me. I don’t fight professionally nor do I train to. I’m not a HW. The truth is how badly I would hurt her depends solely upon my sense of compassion.
Now I don’t think Rousey could beat Cain 1 out of 1000 or more times. Against an untrained fighter, let’s say you, ( I don’t know your size and strength ) I think this attitude against someone like Rousey coming from an average male would spell major trouble for the male.

If I was to come into a physical confrontation with Rousey, my mindset would be if I am not careful this woman might choke me to death or dislocate/break an appendage.

What I believe is Rousey vs Cain… Cain wins 100,000 to 1

Rousey vs an average man… Rousey better be treated like a well trained man or that average man is fucked.

I wouldn’t treat her like a well trained man because she isn’t a well trained man and she isn’t even well trained once you get beyond her Judo. If I somehow found myself in a confrontation with her I would laugh my ass off and tell her to go play with her dolls.
So you say

But if one thing is true about fighting its that people who dont fight, especially men, always greatly overestimate how well, or more accurately, how much agency they will have over how the fight goes.

I think if thats your attitude, I hope someone is there to film it because you will probably end up being a viral hit on youtube “dickhead tells ronda to go play with her dolls and gets choked out”

Oh this is great. I got some popcorn just in case. LOLZ

I personally think could take Ronda because I am mean and nasty and DGAF. However, I would not approach a fight with her lightly. I have messed around with some good judo guys and girls and if they get a clinch on you it can me a friggin nightmare. Ronda’s ground game is good enough that you could easily get caught up and submitted. If we are talking a street encounter that takedown is going to fuck you up. The key to beating her is to stay active and keep her on the end of your punches. Hit hard and accurate not not let her move in for a clinch. I mean that is always a good gameplan anyway but with someone like her it would be imperative. I would try to hurt that bitch from the bell. Oh yeah and if you go down do not turtle up because you already know she is going for the arm.

I can’t believe people actually rate her as highly as some here are. She’s a woman. She’s small. Her ground game is not that good relative to an average BJJ male purple belt. That smurf Carmouche took her back and she had a hard time escaping.

No one has ever taken your back? Man I am not a Rousey fan boy at all but I do think she has some skills. More than most of these girls who are doing MMA. With her status being what it is now she also has access to training that other can’t get. Dana is pulling strings for her, no doubt. Tate will have her hands full but I think a good left hook would tear Rousey up, but given her record I would not intentionally take her to the mat, no friggin way.

I am a Blue Belt in Jitsu and I tapped a Brown before and a couple of Purple belts. All of those guys are way better than me. I am a average Blue at best. Just because someone took her back is really not a great reflection of her skills. Not to mention that the got out of that and slammed Carmouche to the mat and beat her face.

The weight differential is about the same if not less than that of Roger Huerta lighting up that former footballer who was a very, very big boy.

I don’t rate her that highly, I don’t particularly care for her other than wanting to shove my penis in her vagina rather badly. I just think that you’re making that commonly male mistake of vastly overestimating your ability while simultaneously underestimating your opponents.

At the end of the day, woman or not, shes a professional fighter and an olympian. She won’t ever outmatch the best male, but given the average difference between male and females at the top level in power-speed events is only something like 10-20%, just how confident should you feel that you won’t get choked out or arm-bar’d relying soley on the fact you’re a ~MAN~?

Maybe you would wreck, but lets be honest here your ego is making a greater part in this reasoning than any logic is, isnt it?

lol i’m laughing out loud here because in Brazil it’s famous a (wrong) saying i heard in a famous forum about Ronda that she would get choked out by any purple belt from a good bjj academy on a MMA fight. LOL

She is a pro fighter because she is paid but how long has she really been at it? Her performance in sport is measured against other women, with weight classes. Grappling isn’t only about speed and power but technique.

I am not relying on being a man but being a man who is bigger, stronger and who has trained BJJ for 15 years and before that did striking martial arts (including boxing) since I was in elementary school. I have trained with men who competed in the Mundials, mma (including the UFC), wrestled in college and did Judo at a very high level. There is nothing she could do to me that I haven’t seen before done by someone better and bigger.

At one school she trains at she gets tapped by guys regularly. This isn’t ego because if it were I would be talking about me beating Cain and not a woman.

She is a great fighter but her attitude stinks. She needs a good dicking in the ass!

Now I’m sure you would destroy me, but just because you have 15 years of BJJ and striking arts before that, it doesn’t mean you’re good. But I agree with a lot of what you said.
