Hello everyone. First time posting here… been reading for a while, though. My mom hurt her shoulder a couple years ago trying to lift up a table. She went up underneath it and tried to pick it up that way… she hurt her rotator. What types of things can she do to fix it? What exercises should she stay away from? She just joined a gym and I want to help her train, just don’t wanna hurt anything. Thanks for you help.

Find an ART practioner, it did wonders for me. Here’s the link to the locator:

Since your mom belongs to a gym anyway, have her start doing horizontal rows of all types. I had rotator problems myself and I went to see my ART specialist who did some work on the area and told me to eliminate verticle pulls and concentrate on horizontal pulls to strengthen the lats. I’m happy to say that it worked for me and I think it will work for your mom. Good luck.
