I think the squats went ok though it felt like it was pulling on my hip/pelvis area when I was at the bottom, perhaps that is just something I need to work through…

You might be tucking your pelvis under at the bottom. I used to do that and felt a ‘pulling’ that was difficult to identify. I found I did it when I was ‘reaching’ for depth by pulling my tailbone under/forward at the bottom. Not a ton that it was noticeable, but enough that I felt it. Since you haven’t squatted in so long you may be doing it. However this is all based on one line you wrote, so blah blah blah, I couldn’t tell if I didn’t see a video of it, blah blah blah, etc.

PS. Full report of AL men when you return.

There actually is a video a little higher up on the page if you wanted to see. It is from last week from the first ime I squatted in over a year. I felt the pull after, mostly on my left side but more so today… maybe I should do more videos…

I’m cute, but not always that bright. I knew the videos were there and I even watched them when you first posted. Duh. Where abouts were you feeling the pull? You weren’t doing what I thought you might be doing, but depending on where it is it could be a flexibility/mobility issue. I’m done being Dr. Courtney. I give up :)[/quote]

Hahaha!

I think it is a flexibility/mobility issue. The pulling feels like it is in the joint of the left hip, I can’t explain exactly except to say it is on the inside. It’s ok now though I expect to feel it again when I squat and for a little bit after…

One Arm DB Rows 2x5x45, 1x5x50, 2x5x55

Upright Rows 1x8x40, 1x8x50

HS Lat Pull Down 1x8x45, 1x8x70, 2x5x80

Cable Rows 1x8x80, 1x8x90, 1x8x100

I took it pretty easy today to give my shouler a break. It feels ok but as I have had shoulder issues in the past and I am hoping to have some good workouts while I am in AL I don’t want kill it now… I’ll wait till then… :stuck_out_tongue:

at what point during the week do you think you tweaked your shoulder? Do you stretching and all that fun stuff?

Hope it gets better!

It was from work. I have been working in blood bank last week and this and using the automatic pipette, moving my arm over the tubes and across myself to dispose of the used tips killed my shoulder. I have basicly been keeping my right shoulder out straight for 8 hours a day, it just hurts.
Today was better though

Bench Press 1x8x65, 1x6x95, 1x5x115, 4x4x135, 1x1x45

T Bar Rows 1x8x55, 1x8x70, 1x8x80

Inclined DB Press 2x8x35

HS HIgh Row 1x8x45, 2x8x70

NG DB Press 2x8x40

My shoulder is feeling better however this workout made me see that it still needs some time. Esp. the DB presses, I kept those light and just used them to strech because I didn’t want to strain anything. I was surprised when I was warmming up my bench press how everything felt unusually heavy, perhaps I am tired or maybe my shoulder it affecting other things as well. Ahh well, I’ll just take some motrin and hopefully it won’t cause to much of an issue next week.

SLDL 1x10x45, 1x8x95, 2x8x145

Squat 1x8x45, 1x8x95, 3x6x115, 2x5x135

It took me so damn long between SLDL and Squats that I didin’t have time to do SLSS… meh, just as well, my legs are like jelly from that little bit I did.

This is over 2 days time. the first day was just bench as I was trying to make that PR but failed, yet I still celebrated with hot tub time
I am having a geat time in AL though I still have not met any of our tnation AL guys, well of course except for Joe, whom I have a video of rack pulling, but other then that I have only seen skinny guys who do 10 million curls at the gym. Maybe I will have better luck when I get back from Atlanta

I have decided that the machines at my gym must really suck as when I am here I feel like all of the pulleys and what nots move easier and make me feel much stronger… not that that is bad but it is surprsing.
I am going to attemp to Bench Press again tomorrow so I am hoping to hit 165.

Still on vacation…

I am leaving tomorrow…

Yay! for PR! Boo for leaving my friends… pouts

That squat PR was solid too. You’ll hit 205 soon.

Pullys and cables vary by maker. I’ve used ones where I can do tricep push downs with 75lbs and others with only 30. I depends on how many pullys are used and where they are. You’d have to use the same one all the time to get an accurate reflection of how things are going. I prefer the one where I use 75lbs. I feel like a beast.

Congratulations on the squat pr. It’s a great feeling isn’t it?

Yeah your right. I had just figured the ones at UAB were newer and kept in better condition then the ones at my gym.

I am surprised at the PR though I know it wasn’t my max I was just trying to figure out what I could do.

I never actually got any video of me while I was here lifting so maybe when I get back home and get into my new routine, I am going to work 2nd shift now, I will be able to get some form videos up.
