Ronda's Log

Just sayin hi…feels like I haven’t done that in awhile…

ya, 560!! wow…is this the machine where you are upright and push your legs out, or laying at an angle, pushing up slightly? Anyway, good work!!

Any issues with the 560?[/quote]

Everything was good with that actually. I think it was just the timing of the other one that gave me the problem… weird, huh?

yes it has been a while, HI!!

It’s the machine where you are laying at an angle and pushing up.

DL 1x5x135, 15x185, 3x5x205, 1x1x225

BW Dips 3x5

HS Lat Pull down 1x8x90, 3x8x140

Regular Lat pull down 1x8x100

Goblet Squats 2x8x65

Yes I slacked today a bit. Not hat it is an excuse but I really wasn’t feeling the gym today and I did not sleep well last night. I tried to squish 2 workouts into one as I had to miss due to the weather last week though I am not sure I suceeded this time… bleh.

It was in the 50s this morning yet we are expecting some sort of snow tomorrow… yay! New England…

Bench Press 1x10x65, 1x6x95, 1x5x115, 3x5x125, 1x1x145… it was actually a set of 2 but I had to have help with the last one… I really want 155 next…

T Bar Rows 1x8x55, 2x8x65, 1x8x70

HS Iso Rows 1x8x180, 2x8x230

Inclined DB Bench Press 1x8x35, 2x8x40

HS High Row 1x8x160, 2x8x180

NG DB Bench Press 2x8x40

I don’t think anyone who reads my log and comments uses that HS Iso Row machine but if anyone does do you know if it is better to just pull one side at a time or pull both at a time? I see people usually pull one side at a time when the weight starts to get heavier and they seem to get a fuller range on motion though they are twisting slightly as well. I have always pulled both at the same time but as the weight goes up I am not sure what would be best.

SLDL 1x10x45, 1x10x95, 3x8x145

Barbell Curls 1x8x50, 2x8x60, 1x6x60

Seated Leg Press 1x8x180, 1x8x270, 2x5x360, 4x5x450

Tricep Pull over 1x5x50, 2x8x40

SO I didn’t get to much feed back on my last question but for what I have gathered it really doesn’t matter which way I pull shrugs… ok then…

Hey Rond?

Have you tried any non-traditional lifts or pushes lately just to shake things up?

The other day I did dips, but I used the pull-up assist machine. It was a whole different feeling.

also I used it to do simple push downs and I really felt the strain in my chest muscles.

I have the weirdest trainer. BUT, some things are just fun.

Good to see you being so consistent

Hey…hope all is well up in your neck of the woods…I’ve heard about all the crazy weather…can’t say I miss it!
About the ISO row…I only just used it when my trainer introduced me to it…supersetted with close grip pulldowns, ugh!

I’m not sure about one arm at a time…I guess it’s called the ISOlated row, because you the option is there, you know? Seems you like you would get a good stretch and greater ROM with one side at a time…kinda like 1 arm rows, I suppose…

Good bench btw

I hate to say it but due to time contraints and just plain not even thinking about I really can’t say that I have ventured to far out of my set workout. I do do a few things that I really don’t mention in my log just because I do them on cardio days, hyperextensions w/ a 35 lb plate and a 5 sec pause at the top exrx.net/WeightExercises/Hamstrings/BBHyperextension.html
I also do verticle leg raises for my abs…

nothing all that non-traditional…

occasionally I will use a few machines just to see if I feel it in a different muscle group that I am not hitting like I should but tha is about it.

I am sure if I decide to train for a strong man competition though I will get to do all kinds of “non-traditional” stuff

The weather where I am is actually alright though snow is expected on Friday… bleh

Yeah I just caught on to the ISO part of the iso row myself and decided that I would do it that way as I think it will allow my weight on that exercise to go way up… which I kinda like :stuck_out_tongue:

I love to superset most of my days but esp. on upper body days. Though for I like to superset pulling exercises with pushing exercises to give my hands a break.

The weather is getting to be a problem for me getting to the gym… everything I think this won’t happen and every year it does…

I did make it tonight though…

One Arm Row 3x5x50, 3x5x55

Upright Row 3x8x50, 1x5x60

HS Lat Pulldown 1x8x90, 3x8x140

Dealifts 2x10x135
I was just curious if I could keep good form with increasing the amount, I did pretty good.

Then I only had 10 mins left so I did some cardio

inclined walk 10 mins

No snow tomorrow so I should be good to go…

Bench Press 1x10x65, 1x8x95, 1x5x115, 3x5x125, 1x3x135, 1xBIGFAILx155

omg! w/o a spotter it would have landed on my neck… I brought it down way to fast, I guess I was thinking the faster it came down the more I could explode up, yeah… not so much.
I did to 2 more assisted reps which seemed kind of pointless to me as if you are being assisted at 155 why not just lift a lesser weight unassisted but according to him he was barely touching it…

T bar Rows 1x8x55, 3x8x70

HS Iso Row 1x8x180, 3x8x230

HS High Row 1x8x160, 3x180

Inclined DB Press 1x8x35, x8x40

NG DB Press 1x8x35, 2x8x40

stomach flu… I’ll be back… eventually

I’m back, weaker and 10 lbs lighter, but I am here.

I think I just really like my upper body day and that is why it is the day almost never miss…

Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x95, 2x5x115, 3x5x125
That was it… like I said, weaker…

T bar Rows 1x8x55, 3x8x70

HS Iso Row 1x8x90, 3x8x115
I guess since I am alternating I should not add the weight of each side…

Inclined DB Press 1x8x35, 3x8x40

HS High Row 1x8x140, 1x8x160, 2x8x180

Nice work there Ro Ro.

Still feeling weak today and it shows…

SLDL 1x12x65, 1x8x95, 2x8x145, 1x3x165

BB Curl 1x8x50, 2x8x60

Seated Leg Press 1x10x180, 1x8x270, 1x6x360, 4x5x450

Tricep Pull over 2x8x40

Single leg Split Squat x8x40db, 1x8x40 barbell
Obviously different weight but I wanted to see if I liked holding one better then the other.
I felt like I could concentrate more on the squat holding the barbell because I was not focusing on holding on to the dbs… damn my grip strength sucks!

Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x95, 1x5x115, 2x5x125, 2x2x135, 1x1x135

T Bar Rows 1x8x55, 2x8x70

HS Iso Row 1x8x90, 2x8x115

HS High Row 1x8x80, 2x8x90

NG DB Press 3x8x45

I was running late so I had to skip out on something and this mornng that was my Inclined DB Press. I feel like I have cut the NG DB Press short to oten so I had better stick to that this morning. I have to admitt that I had a much better performance with it when I didn’t do the Inclined Press first, good to know.
I am still aiming for at 155 Bench Press and I am hoping to make it next week while in AL visiting my freinds. Though I wish I had a spotter this week as I would have liked to do a few reps at 145 just to prepare… ahh well…

WOW, 155!! I’m so weak anymore with this 3x15 stuff…and I just got back into the gym today after two weeks in MI…I plan to just do a heavy set of each move(bench, squat, DL) after the regular sets,so I can hopefully keep the strength I worked so hard for!

Hope all is well!!

It’s hard to lose weight and gain muscle at teh same time as you know but in the end I bet you won’t have any problem gaining back your strength plus you will look hot doing it :stuck_out_tongue:
It will all be worth it.

SLDL 1x12x65, 1x10x95, 2x8x145

Good Mornings 3x8x85

BB Curls 3x8x60 1x3x70

Single Leg Spilt Squat 3x8x45dbs

Tricep Pull overs 1x5x40

Tricep Dips 1x5xBW

So I skipped out on the Leg Press today because I really wanted to get my Split Squats in plus I wanted to focus on my hamstrings. No particular reason other then I feel like I have been neglecting that area.
