So it seems that I will be staying in CT for at least the next year. While I was offered a job in AL the offer came to late and I have already gotten an apartment and am in final negociations for a job. Hopefully it will be confirmed by the end of the week, yay!
I still would really like to move to be closer to friends but I can do this for another year. I hope to really improve on my diet as I will be able to buy my own food and have a more stable schedule. Plus I will be able to afford to buy more Biotest supplements!
I also hope that once my insurance kicks I I will be able to get an insulin pump which may help me in my weight loss efferts and also help to avoid the many hypoglycemic episodes I have now
Seated Leg Press 1x10x180, 1x6x270, 3x5x320, 3x5x350
I really had no idea I could go up in weight on this machine, I can still go up in weight more. I know it’s just a machine and not a real squat but I’m mildly impressed with myself here

My workout tonight was hampered just a bit by all the painting I have been doing over this past week. I keep trying to use my right and left arms evenly to avoid irritation and simply keep from making my right arm that much stronger then my left arm.
I sort of failed at that, lol. I noticed this tonight because while doing DB Rows and upright rows I started to feel pain in only the right shoulder. Ahh well, in truth with all the painting and getting ready to move that I have been doing I think I have been working my back and shoulders pretty well.
HS Lat pull down 3x8x110
Cable Rows 1x12x80, 3x8x80
Up right Rows 2x5x60, 3x8x50
One arm DB Row 4x5x45
Back Extentions 1x8x25, 2x8x35
I can really feel my spinal erector muscles after doing these for only 2 weeks
I let the shoulder press go for tonight because of the soreness and the fact that I am prone to injury lately and have been feeling pretty good, I don’t want to ruin it before I move and really need my body to work for me then
So I got a job! I think it will be a job thing though I am still trying to be excited about it as it isn’t exactly what I had hoped for. The good news is that I can stay in the gym I am in now, esp. now that they are getting all new HS equipment, as a gym geek this makes me very happy

Yup UAB!
Considering the type of job I am looking for I am pretty sure there will be jobs available next year. I am committed to staying here at least a year so I am hoping by late next summer/fall to move…
If you dont mind me asking, what is it you got a new job doing?
Congrats!
Hey you went up on your goblet squats!
can you refresh my memory as to why regular squats are missing, or do you just prefer them?

I just graduated with a degree in Clinical Lab Science/Medical Technologist. So I will now be a professional lab geek
I always try to go up on all my weights and I have been slacking in the goblet squat catagory so I thought I should up it. After all, you don’t get stronger if you just stay where you are comfortable
The reason I don’t do regular squats anymore is because somehow I was never able to get my position right. This started to affect my lower back, especially during and after my deadlift sessions. To the point of having constant lower back pain. It took some trial and error to figure out what was causing the pain but once I stopped doing back squats I didn’t have any problems.
My friend/trainer says it’s because I’m “delicate” which makes me want to slap him
I gave my shoulder one more day before I went back to the gym but I did hit it today, though I went a little easy on most things today and though I am looking to up the weight in a few areas I held back that is week.

I ened up moving last week and completely threw off my gym schedule. I didn’t think it would take that much out of me or be that time consuming. I have to say though that I was sort of impressed with myself. I have moved in the past and generally the men did all the heavy lifting, however this time we weere not able to find anyone so that left just me and my father to move everything up 4 flights of stairs. Yes I was tired but I was able move or help move everything, that is a big change from when I move a few years back.
I still have 2 weeks before I start working so I look forward to getting settled in my new apartment and getting back on my gym schedule tomorrow. I did spinning today so so far I am back to normal
I have to say that that little break I took last week to move really paid off in the gym. I did great at Bench Press today and even hit 2 PRs. I even made videos, unfortunately my camera battery dies before I hit 125 but I do have both the 115 and the 120 so stayed tuned…
BB Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x65, 1x6x85, 3x5x95, 2x5x115, 1x3x115, 1x2x120 PR*, 1x1x125 PR*
T Bar Row 3x8x50
HS Iso Row 3x8x200
HS High Row 3x8x150
Inclined DB Bench 1x10x35, 2x12x30
NG DB Bench 3x8x35
This one set of 115, up until now I had only ever done 3 reps of 115, I think the camera inspired me
this is the 120, like I said before I did 125 after this but my camera battery died right after this. 135 isn’t far …
ETA: I guess this video isn’t going to work so here is the youtube link
SLDL 1x10x45, 1x12x95, 3x10x145, 1x6x145
I forgot I was supposed to be doing sets of 12 for some reason
Seated Leg Press 1x10x180, 1x8x270, 4x5x360, 3x5x410
That last one was hard but I bet I can do more.
Barbell Curls 2x8x50, 4x5x60
Some guy commented that I was lifting more then him when I was doing this and I told him that he could probably lift more since he wasn’t really struggling to BB curl 40lbs. This of course made me have to go up to 60
DB Curls 3x6x30, 2x8x25
Single Leg split Squats 3x8x40
These were hard to do but they were good to.
Back extentions 3x8x35
I never really see anyone go up in weight on this exercise so I was wondering if I should or just do more reps. Also I don’t think I can hold a 45lb plate because of where I am located on the machine, I think the width of the plate and my arms will not fit between the handle bars. Maybe I could hold it on my back… I’m not sure what to do.
HS Lat pull down 3x8x140
Cable Rows 3x12x70
Upright Row 1x8x60, 2x8x50
I think I could have managed the 60 but it hurt my shoulder so I went back to the 50, I wish there was a 55lb bar, that would be perfect.
One Arm Shoulder Press 3x8x25
One Arm DB Rows 5x5x45
I think I can also go up on weight with these as well but I think I will have to sacrifice form for my left arm to be able to accomplish the lift, so it may not be worth it yet.
I think I wimped out today on DL. I didn’t go as heavy as I could but I did do a higher rep set at a lighter weight just to see if I could.
DL 1x5x135, 2x5x155, 2x5x175, 1x10x135
I think I could have done more reps as at 135 but my hands did not want to hold on any more.
CG Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x65, 1x5x85, 5x5x95
Goblet Squat 1x12x70, 3x8x70
HS Seated Tricep dip 3x8x140
Bench Press 1x10x45, 1x8x85, 3x5x95, 3x4x115
1x1x125
The 115 was a little harder this week then last and I wasn’t able to manage a set of 5 but 3x4x is more then last week.
T Bar Row 3x8x55, 1x10x45
HS Iso Row 1x8x180, 2x8x200
Incline DB Press 3x10x35, 1x8x35
HS High Row 1x8x160, 3x8x170, 1x8x160
NG DB Press 4x5x40
I was so happy at the gym to see another woman lifting heavy. I saw her bench press w/ her boyfriend spotting 115 for sets of 10. She made comment that I was strong when I was doing my Inclined DB bench which made me feel great :). We talked about working out together so hopefully we will see eachother again.
That would be great if you could connect with another woman to work out with. I’m always on the look out myself. Unfortunately it’s normally only men at my place. There used to be a woman, but I haven’t seen her around in a while.
I hope it works out for you.
Same in my gym as far as ther only being men, the women tend to stick with the cardio machines. The guys tend to keep to themselves and I don’t think they know what to make of me so it was great to see another woman. I certainly hope we see eachother again and can work out at some point.
Thanks for stopping by!
Thats cool that you met ‘one of them.’

Today was a good day. I am still trying to figure out how much I can press of the Seated leg press so there is some experimentation going on there. I felt strong today and and was rather pleased with my appearence, an importnat thing for a woman
