Goddamnyou! and your under table fried chicken feeding heart!

He is just a HUSKEY kitty cat!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Today I did 30 mins of CARDIO

Then I did AB work

3x15x25 declined stomach crunches

5x15x45 DB obliques

Then I SWAM laps in the pool, only 3… I haven’t really gotten my swimming groove down yet…

Some one get me some bunny ears and call me a cardio bunny! :stuck_out_tongue:

Deadlift 1x10x135, 1x8x155, 1x5x180, 1x3x200, 1x5x225 rep PR, 1x1x245, 1x1x245, 1x0x245, 1x1x225, 1x8x135

SLDL 2x10x135

DB obliques 3x15x45

plates, not DB

weighted Decline crunches 3x15x25

So yeah… DLs just totally died from some reason. I was going to go up to 265 but 245 felt really hard, so I did it again and tried for 3rd… and it died  Though I did make a rep PR, so I guess that is good. Now at this point my back was kind of sore however the SLDL felt absolutely great. Didn’t hurt at all, my grip was wearing out though so I had to stop that. What’s up with that?

Abs are sore. But that is good.

can they be chocolate bunny ears?

stuff to work grip and abs at the same time…maybe some kroc rows or db carries.

I like the way you think ;p

I just I worded that wrong on my post. I was sort of expecting my grip to wear out at that point, between the chalk and the knurls I can only take so much. What I though was weird was how my back was hurting when I was DLing, using sumo style, and not at all when I was doing hte Romanian DL at the end, it actually felt good.

Also I am wondering I am wearing my belt wrong. I feel like it would be more effective if slightly lower, putting pressure against my lower back and stomach. In stead I have it at my waist, which is signifigantly smaller then my hips. So much so that it is hard to put the belt inbetween the two areas. Plus the belt is a little bit too big for me. I feel like I can’t get a big enough breath to push against it to make it tight and useful. Blarg.

Deload week!

I foam rolled my quads beofre I did any thing and warmed up my hip flexors and quads.

Box Squat 1x10xBW, 1x10x45, 1x10x65, 1x5x95, 1x5x115, 1x5x135

GM 1x10x45, 1x10x65, 2x10x95

Lat Pull down 1x10x85, 2x10x100, 1x6x120

Abs

Decline weighted crunch 2x15x30 kettlebell

DB obliques 1x20x35, 2x15x45

Hey, just to let you know I received your PM and have had a look at the videos. I’m going to ask BB to take a look as well.

I’ve suffered from chronic lower back pain but I believe mine is due to a weird tailbone. I’ve never had the quad issues but I’ve had problems off and on with my left adductor and when it flares up, I definitely favour it.

When I have problems like that I go see my ART guy who specializes in strength athletes. It often ends up being a problem seemingly unrelated to what hurts. I get weaknesses that are often caused by weak feet and do foot exercises.

I don’t do any type of foam rolling because I’m lazy.

Like I said, I’ll ask BB to take a look and see if anything triggers for him.

What do you do for weak feet? My feet are a bit fucked up too. Flat, wide, no ligament supoort, bunions, constant pain… a very sexy problem :stuck_out_tongue:

My chiropractor is very holistic, perhaps not ART exactly, but he does do alot of seemingly unrelated things to help me. One time he stuck his finger in my mouth, against the top, to relieve the ridges in skull… meh, maybe it helped or maybe he is a freak… i will ask him about my quad though.

WELL. I can’t input anything on your form LOL.

I CAN CONFIRM that you are hella totes adorbs!

<3 The pic and the Avi!

The last massage I got she asked if it was ok to massage the sutures of my skull and then traced paths along my head. I don’t know if it did anything, but it felt really weird. So, maybe there’s something to the skull ridge thing, idk.

Ladies, what do you think about this belt?

http://www.inzernet.com/detail_belt.asp?PRODUCT_ID=FOREVER_BB_TAPER_BUCKLE

I have been wearing Joe’s belt which is a bit wider then this one but it hits the bottom of my ribs and top of my pelvis. Is this how your belt fit you?

This is Joe’s belt

I am just worried, as this is a big investment in my opinion, I would hate to get the wrong one.

Please respond if you have a particular opinion

I finally got on a computer where I could watch your squat vid and answer your PM.

You initiate your squat by bending your knees forward and then you fold your chest down like a GM. No wonder you feel it in your back. I swear by squatting to a box to learn to sit back and keep the chest high, regardless of the weight. Simple advice, but it seems to work.

I don’t know what could be causing your quad pain. Funny that O gave the advice that I did in my PM regarding seeing an ART practitioner.

And regarding the belt: I have the tapered Inzer lever, which I LOVE. I highly recommend the tapered version as I struggled with being unable to breathe and feeling like I was being crushed in the middle with the full-size belt. There is a break-in period, but once the leather molds to your body, it’s wonderful and worth the expense.

glad to hear I wasn’t off about my box squatting advice.

when I was dabbling in personal training it’s always how I started off teaching people to squat.
you’d be surprised at how hard it is for a lot of people to sit properly! lol

Hope your chiro brings some relief. I think it’s time I get to one myself.

Thank you everyone for all of you advice.

First off, sadly there are no ART practitioners in the Birmingham area. I have however had good luck with my Chiropractor and a massage therapist. I told my chiro my quad was hurting me, asked me to show him squat position, and applied some pressure to the right side of my somach and waist… quad pain gone. Now granted it was a litte tight this morning but at least I know it is something that can be fixed. I could have hugged that man

The box squatting is a good idea and I did do some on Saturday, which I appearently never updated that work out. The thing witht hte box squats is that while I was sitting back it put alot of pressure on my quad. trying to take the pressure off that quad I must of incorporated my back because good god my back hurt coming up off of the box. I am going to do more of these and I am hoping now that my quad issue is starting to get resolved it won’t be so much of an issue.

I think I will go with the tapered belt, I think it will help me feel a bit more comfortable in it

can you video the box squats? really shouldn’t be much quad in it…be sure to flare the knees out off the box.

Wonderful about the chiro being able to help out !!!

are you sitting all the ONto the box?

I like to just sit back far enough to where the booty grazes it, :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope your parts are feelin ok.

Squat 1x10xBW, 1x10x45, 1x10x65, 1x10x95, 1x8x115, 1x6x135, 1x5x155, 1x5x180, 1x5x200

Box Squat 5x5x135

Romainian DL 2x10x135

Lat Pull down 1x10x100, 2x10x120

Cable Crunches 1x15x62, 2x15x72

Captain Chair leg Raises 3x10

DB Obliques 3x15x45

Decline Crunches 1x20xsomeone throwing a 10 lb ball to me

Decline Crunches 1x15x35 lb kettle bell

NO PAIN!!! YAY!!!

Yes I felt my quad but it only was feeling streched, not painful. I felt my back in the hole but it wasn’t really painful. Concentrating on holding my breath, doing a kegel, and not letting my hips rise first I was able, when I achieved all these things at once, to take the pressure off my back and put it more into my glutes. I didn’t go for any heavy singles today. I knew that my form was going down hill a bit the heavier I got and I was so excited to not be in pain that I didn’t want to over do it… though perhaps I should have tried a few…
I was not able to get a video of my box squats today as my camera battery died, hopefully next week. I did notice the once I pointed my feet out more and widened my stance the box squats came alot easier.
I also had a better time with the belt then I have in the past. I am not sure if I lost weight but somehow tonight I was able to push the belt down further and realy push out against it in my stomach. I am wondering if part of the problem is that it is just a bit to big for me. I really look forward to getting my belt for christmas, it will be less wide and I can make it tighter, I think, I hope, that will help alot.

yay for no pain! You did right in not pushing it for heavy singles, listen to yourself!

I also think if you start squatting a bit more “upright” the belt will feel better and not press into the hips/ribs as much.

be careful about widening the stance/point the toes out too much too soon, strengthen those hip flexors up first and slowly.

do you do any KB swings or cable pull throughs?

Oh, what color will your belt be?
