That guy wasn’t really lifting anything amazing, they could have done a little better than a jug of water and some bags of dirt. A human would have been better.

The US military has been developing robotic suits for decades. They have only been field-testing them for slightly less than that. I used to serve with a guy who was part of the program (this was 14-15 years ago).
