My left leg was still bugging me on the squats today but less so than yesterday. I still favouring it but managed a solid triple at 525, which is a PR. My elbows were pretty fried but after a bunch of stretching and indian club stuff they felt better and I hit a 5# bench PR and a rep PR at 315. Finished with some lighter deadlifts.

I’m putting the belt on to prep for the meet now. Hit a solid triple on the deadlift, it felt like hell but moved well. I’ll hit some more reps next week then a final heavy single. My quad was bugging me for squatting, but less than Sat, I didn’t seem to favour it tonight.

I did the benches w/ press commands from one of my training partners who is also a WPC ref, so they should be legit. Biceps were sore today but 363 was much stronger and smoother than yesterday. I’m definitely feeling good about the bench. Hit some light high bar squats as recovery.

did some tire flips.

Didn’t really give myself enough time this morning. 505 didn’t feel fantastic and I made an executive decision to shut it down instead of trying to rush a PR attempt. I know I’m strong enough to squat over 580 w/ a belt. If I’m feeling good tomorrow I’ll go for it. Otherwise I have one more big squat day planned for next week so I’ll go for something heavy then.

I’m made the right call shutting it down yesterday, I smashed 580 today. I felt like I cut it higher than usual but looking at the video I’m pretty confident it’s in. Went on to hit a PR triple. Benching was good, my warm up sets didn’t feel very good so I decided to just go for 2 on my final set. 350 moved much better and I might have been able to get a third but I’d made up mind before hand so I didn’t attempt it. Also hit an incline PR which is good, I think 300+ is there soon.

I didn’t feel great today and considered skipping training all together. Obviously I didn’t and I hit a strong PR on the squats today, I was pretty stoked to hit reps at 550. My quads felt fried but the weight moved very well. I’m feeling good for a 585-590 this weekend and then looking forward to a couple weeks of lighter squats before the meet.

For the benches my elbows and shoulders felt a little beat up and 355 wasn’t as controlled as I would have liked, I pressed the second rep straight up instead of back over my shoulders and the lockout was much tougher than it should have been. I wasn’t feeling up to deadlifting so I hit some back work and called it a day.
