LWI…spreading like wildfire
I have been in a funk as of lately, I’ve been a little apathetic and unmotivated the last couple weeks. Last week I had a chest/back and leg day on Wednesday/Thursday that I didn’t even post up. Basically I need to look over my goals, I have some decent strength goals for 2011 and to attain them I must continue to progress.
I know I haven’t posted my diet recently but I’ve been eating around 200-250g carbs/day, a fair amount of fat – not counting but two pounds of peanut butter each week is sort of a lot, and a decent amount of protein. Usually eating about a pound of lean ground beef in two sittings, need to up my veggies though. I nixed the ice cream and deserts, so that’s sort of a good thing.
I’ve only had a couple cheat meals the last three weeks; a couple trips to wendy’s for double stacks and have only had pizza once this month. But I’m a damn sucker for burritos. Managed to loose about 5 pounds just by reducing my carbohydrates, sitting just above 202 at the moment. I’d like to change my training template and am considering a couple different approaches.
Sorry to hear about your funk :(.
In terms of looking over your goals, are you wanting to change them? Or are you thinking they are unrealistic?
Good on you for not binging despite being in a funk.
Looking forward to your posts
Keep on pushing man! I’m trying to chase you.
Blaze, that vid is awesome. Best one I’ve seen from that guy.
My main focus is usually lifting hard and heavy but once in a while I lose the fire and I’ll do something totally different: hike, dive, do circuits from hell, bodyweight exercises. It only takes a couple of weeks before I start missing my mistress.
I find lifting is like a solid relationship; sometimes you got to let yourself miss it a little.

Thanks for the replies,
Since we’re talking about motivation, this video generally gets me amped:

It obviously worked, too. Monster.
Good to see you crushing it again Chi, you can’t go 100% intensity 100% of the time, something’s going to give. Once you’ve recharged your mind, you can become some kind of monster.

Chi - when I feel down in the dumps, I update my iPod, crank some new tunes, and just fuck shit up. Bring the ruckus bro!
Ink: Perhaps the problem is that I always demand 110% so when I’m feeling sub par it can get me down.
Harrison: I haven’t bought any CDs recently, although my brother has a torrent so maybe I’ll download some things next time he comes to Chicago.

My bro has a torrent as well. He’s into weird music. We both grew up listening to the Grateful Dead and Phish and other jam bands (have you ever heard of the band Umphrey’s Mcgee from Chicago?), but over the last few years I’ve also gotten into hip hop/rap. I called him the other day and asked him to download some Tech 9 and Wu Tang, and he was pissed LOL! He told me I’m turning into a douche haha! I said, “You’re right, so?”
glad you decided to carry on Chi ![]()
those bear crawls look tough as hell too.
It’s an unmotivating time in the fitness world. But you’re definetely still killing it.

Notes: Some solid training sessions as I write this, on Wednesday, my legs are still fried. And today begins the first day of Lent, I will give up TV and video games – I did this for 12 weeks during my contest prep so 40 days should be a walk in the park.
Other updates I have a photoshoot June 8th and will reach sub six percent bodyfat – depending how I look I may or may not compete this summer. If there are natural pro qualifiers I might have to try my hand at them. I’m very excited about the next few months, I’m working with a search engine guru to help rank my website on google and a couple other projects. I’m going to be turning 23 in a couple weeks and I have a lot of things I need to accomplish in 2011 in order to reach my financial and training goals.
Right now this is my theme song, I listen to it every morning before work with a black coffee and a stevia:
Solid training sessions Chi. Good luck with every goal you have set for yourself. I have no doubt you’re going to reach them, you’re a driven mofo who’s already accomplished more in his life than many other will ever even strive for.
Tear it up man, make life your bitch.

Ink: Thank you very much for the comment Ink, it means a lot to me. I strive to be the best version of myself every single day and constantly improve at every thing I do. I despise the idea of having a normal existence, I want to be great at everything I do.
The main thing I’m retaining from Marcus Aurelius’s Meditations is that we have a very limited time here on earth, so it is cheating ourselves to waste time on trivialities. Everyday I want to be able to say that I’m walking my path and on my way to achieving my life’s purpose, or accomplished something to help me get there.
For Lent I have given up television and video games – I did this in the past for the 12 weeks of my contest prep, 40 days should be a walk in the park. It is a time to go without, so to speak, but to fill that void with something; something useful or productive. I will meditate for at least twenty minutes each day of lent, and try to expand my business to other locations in Chicagoland. I believe I have a lot of potential that I need to harness, that I must put to good use in order to achieve anything noteworthy during the short time I have here on earth. As Lent reminds us, from ash we were created and from ash we shall return.
As Marcus so poetically put it So one should pass through this tiny fragment of time in tune with nature, and leave it gladly, as an olive might fall when ripe, blessing the earth which bore it and grateful to the tree which gave it growth.
I want to be able to look back at life and be proud of the decisions that I made and all that I have accomplished.
