Rising To The Top

Nice log and keep up the good work. I just have a question on where you train because im from chicago and currently i train at xsport but it is too commercial for me.

Thanks, Justin

It won’t hurt to try lunges w/ the smith machine. Haven’t done lunges in a while, should be fun.

Nice training man, careful with the plates on the dips you almost castrated yourself haha

Kickin it old skool…

ya, I feel old now…wu tang was “in,” when I was in about 8th grade if I remember correctly.

Just catching up with the awesomeness that is your training!!

Nikki: That’s what I had on my ipod! When there aren’t any clients at the gym I can attach my ipod to the stereo which is pretty awesome.

Harrison: That is a must buy!

Jgun: Thank you for the comment, I train in a studio gym in Glenview – just north of Skokie. If that’s near you at all you can check out my website for directions: www.borafitness.com

AC: Right on brother man
Kalle: Thanks for dropping in, lol I’ll have to proceed with caution now that I’m in the 3 plate club!

MIM: Thanks for the comment, the WU has always been in!

Wussup Chi-Town,

i got a question: Your arms look super thick in your videos. Are they naturally like that, or is that due to exercise selection. Also, have you ever messed with supps like Alpha Male, prohormones, or anything of that nature. I’ve been hearing a lot about these kinds of supps lately, but I don’t think you can take them and still be considered natural. BTW, your numbers are looking really good man. I’m impressed with the progress you’ve made with Beast Building.

I see you’re still churning out great sessions. Talk about leg and arm pumpage.

AC: Thanks man, just trying to get it in!

I don’t think I can credit my exercise selection to the shape of my arms, they grew to that thickness naturally. Although, I still have a way to go – I haven’t measured them but I’d guess they are shy of 17."

AM and prohormones are two different animals entirely, I haven’t used either although the former you can use and still be considered natural. Prohormones, however, are equivalent to steroids; when you digest them they metabolize into dbol – at least that is my elementary understanding of them. They are actually more toxic than traditional injections, and since you get them over the counter people assume they are safe. You actually have to do a more extensive detox than actual steriods, so I’d definitely caution anyone to stay away from that trash.

Lastly, yes I enjoyed doing beast building very much and I’d recommend it to anyone who is doing a bulk.

Hey, thanks man! I’ve heard good and bad things, but I definitely value my health too much to trash it with some shit! I’m thinking about trying Receptormax, and maybe eventually Alpha Male. The more research I do on prohormones, the worse they sound. I remember taking a supp from Max Muscle called X-Tren a few years back before I knew anything about diet/exercise.

I gained like 15 pounds in 8 weeks, but mostly fat since I wasn’t doing any real exercise other than uneducated bullshit. Goes to show that those supps are powerful, but turned out to be a waste. Looking back, however, the Max Muscle salesman said they were prohormones, which I thought sounded good like probiotics - how could they be bad for you - lol!

And, he swore that they were safe and didn’t mess with your body. Well, I was depressed all the time, gained a ton of weight, and I’d sweat so hard at night that I was washing my sheets 3 or 4 times a week! WTF!

I’ve tried the natural test boosters, akin to Alpha Male, although honestly we don’t need that at our age. That’s something to consider past thirty, we’re in our prime right now. Lift heavy shit and eat a lot of good calories.

Some sales people will tell you anything, it’s up to you to filter through the bullshit. That sounds like a pretty bad experience.

Uhm, I’m pretty sure you can press 315 without bands too!

Awesome power-ing.

Holy crap! Nice PR! Any chance you recorded it?

Not quite sure how much pressure it took off, but it made 135 feel damn near like air! Hopefully it didn’t take off more than 100 pounds.

@AC, no next time I do benching with bands I will though.

Staying strong in here I see. I’ve never done much band work…it’d be interesting to try. You say it’s easier on your shoulder than other methods?

On a side note; I’m not the only one on this site that has read “Things Fall Apart?” Sweet!

Yes. Yes they are. Awesome PR man, I gotta do reverse bands on bench next.

HT: Yeah I had a some shoulder impingement from doing partial reps on bench, and pin presses aren’t much better. These are a slightly different animal, but still work the lock out because it’s heavier at the top.

Ink: Hell yeah, LWI.
