Took some time to think about this, and you are 100% right.

I went to straightened a bunch of stuff up the gym. Moved all the plates and got them more organized, shifted some stuff around, and threw out somethings I didn’t use/need anymore. Even found my sledgehammer!
When I was on my cleaning spree I layed things out and looked at the progression of my journey. I started with nothing. No equipment or knowledge of how to use it. I have come a long way from my 5lb dumbbells and 4 ft piece of galvanized pipe for a bar. No reason to stop now.
I told myself last time that I would not quit and have to start over, even if I have to rep the empty bar!
Hmmmm… can’t upload pics right now. The stupid wind knocked down one of the mesquite trees in my outside play space on my sled. That wasn’t very nice! ![]()
Excellent attitude, you’re unstoppable now! Keep at it, how ppl face challenges says a lot about them.
I face the same thing before half of my workouts, and I lift at home, too (in my garage.) It’s beyond obnoxious. What do you think is causing this… internal opposition?
I have no idea. My get up go, got up and went! I’m just dragging ass right now. I am assuming that my last episode has left me with sort of deficiency, hence the horrific leg cramps and the over all feeling of unwellness. I just have to keep trying different things until I hit the right one or it resolves itself.
I reckon you’re right about the last episode completely draining you, physically AND emotionally. Is there any particular lift, type of exercise, or combo of them that you really enjoy?
I ask because, when facing adverse circumstances or life situations, I’ve found the emotional and cognitive fatigue to be even greater obstacles than the metabolic fatigue. In those times, I’m finally (slowly) learning to let exercise be healing by only doing the lifts or activities I’m excited about or that I get a happy feeling about doing.
I enjoying deadlifting. Straight bar, trap bar, axle. I understand what you are saying and I had that talk with myself already. To just go out there and have fun!

This went mucho better than the other day.
Story time…
Since the big flood we have had to walk from my mom’s house to ours, the dirt toad washed out. So, every night my big dog, who stays outside during the day barks until we get home, and he gets to come in.
We start home last night and he starts his usual, I’m a candy ass afraid of the dark, let me in barking, and then it changed. Suddenly it was, his mean, I have something that isn’t supposed to be here bark. As soon as I get in the door I get the flashlight and head out to see what was going on. Halfway there I could here it! Run back to the house to get “back up”. He had a rattlesnake just sizzling. This thing is pissed! He has it riled up at the edge of the tall grass so I couldn’t see the snake. I am yelling at him to get back. He is trying to show me where it is. Finally he gets out of the way and I still can’t actually see the snake. I let loose a round and the snake took off. All I can see is the grass moving. (This was like out of Jurassic Park.) I fired again and lost him. He came around the back side of the doghouse and rattled again. His bad! If he would he been quiet I would have never found him. Wide open shot. Needles to say he didn’t make it.
I love my 20 gauge my dad made for me!
Anybody up for some rattlesnake for breakfast? Cause I ain’t gonna touch it ![]()
Apparently there is nothing wrong my heart at least!
Well done to both you and your dog!! The snake returning doesn’t make sense, but it sure worked out for the best. Well, not for the snake. But good riddance to it.
I concur about just having fun with lifting. I mean, really, we aren’t professional athletes or soldiers or cops, so why not center our training around what we enjoy? And sometimes, what I enjoy is zero structure so I can just appreciate the moment of lifting.

GG/BG have been helping my hip soreness as well.
Thinking of adding hip thrusts or pull-throughs to complement
I picked up another pipe nipple and put my T handle back together to try some swings. I am hoping that will help as well. Hip thrusts always tighten up my hammies so my plan is to start with glutes bridges and hopefully work up to the hip thrusts.
I have no idea why I can’t post a gif to this forum. But this sums up this week so far. Well apparently I can’t post an image either.
Good work on the 205 deadlift!
Today, I realized that rehab and therapy work are like doing prep work for projects. Therapy and prep work are irritating and time consuming, often taking as long as the project or longer, but when done right, the project or fun exercises turn out much better!
