Rising From the Ashes (CL)

If I see the grandson I will let him know. The others can figure it out. :smiling_face_with_horns:

He seems to be the only one that cares.

Thanks for the link! I looked at several this morning.

Sleep was another shitshow. Hot, legs cramped up. Wired but tired this morning.

Going to ask Jed if he wants to go get a pumpkin so we can go to the pumpkin float Sat. (They float them on the river.)

Jed said yes to the pumpkin idea. So, since we are in town might as well get some gas station food.

Onions are vegatables, right?

Correct. Most likely fried in vegetable oil. So there is that too.

Picadillo and tortillas. No, I didn’t make the lil street food tortillas. But the picadillo is 100% from scratch.

We made it! Through the rain, hail and lightning. I thought they may cancel it but, it cleared off and was a nice evening.
All pumpkin’d out. I told Jed he looks like he is stoned…lol He wanted to get a pic with the sunset.

Looks like fun! I honestly am surprised pumpkins float. I would think they would want to fill up with water with the holes cut. Pretty cool idea. :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Well, they do float but… these are on tables just under the water. The guy that started this would raft them together and coral them in his kayak. Back then there were only a few, as it’s gotten bigger different methods have been used. Sadly he passed away a few years ago so now they use the tables. It’s just a fun way to remember him.

The true heroes here are the volunteers that wade out in the water through the mucky river bottom to display them.

Shitty weather this morning. Wet from humidity and 65° not cool enough to be cold, not warm enough to be hot. Yuck!

Supposed to be 37 Thursday morning. That will probably mean a light frost where I live in the holler. Now, I have to drag all those plants back in the greenhouse.
