That’s exactly what it is!

Tah dah! It went together without a hitch! I had to move things around and still not finished with that part of it. I knew before I ordered it that vertical clearance would be an issue, so for now I just inverted the pull up bar. It will take a little bit the iron out the details on placement. Cuz you know, I ain’t right in the head!
It’s as awesome as I wanted it to be!

OK. I’m going to assume that you may be prone to shoulder injury like me. If you have shoulder joints like mine, be really careful to keep elbows in if you like training dips. Unfortunately, I can’t train dips or upright rows. I can press OH, but I need to keep my hands a bit closer when I’m training push presses or military press. Not in a big Y or Snatch position. @ Laying on a bench, horizontal pressing, I really like to neutral press DBs. I can Bench Press, but I have to be careful to keep my hands fairly close, and elbows in, PLer style. No flared elbows. Erg… I think we can still do most things, we just have to be more careful, make adaptations.

Awesome! I always feel like putting together Ikea furniture is like an IQ test. Same with that rack, I’m sure. Haha.

Yes! I started out with narrow grip on the bench, but have worked my way out to a wider grip without any pain. My OH press sucks so I would probably have to be able to actually move enough weight to injure something there. It’s just the stupid dips that seem to tear it up… ugh!

And yes, it was somewhat of an IQ test. Each upright had a specific position. Once I figured that out it took less an hour!

I’m so happy

CL you posted an Alpha video in somebody’s log here a few days ago. He was doing weighted dips, he said that was all he had ever done for arm work. Can you tell me where/when you posted it?

I think it was weighted pull ups. Kd13 posted it in the All Things Chin Up Thread.

I flunked initials too. An age thing no doubt.

Well it doesn’t matter what you call it, I really like the method for deadlifting.

Still working on cleaning things up and getting it arranged the way I want. Next step is to pull the insulation out of the ceiling. YUK! I don’t wanna!

@brute_fury while I was moving stuff, I threw the trap bar up on the rack and to my amazement I was able to press it!!!
I really didn’t think I would be able to. Did a few reps just screwing around. Thank you for the suggestion!

When I retired from the military I swore of acronyms. Since I don’t have gyms close at hand in the Philippines like here I’m getting very interested in your ring work. I could set up some of those in my brother-in-law’s training hall and do a pretty good workout with them.

I highly recommend the rings. Wish I would have bought them sooner!

EMOM deads are nasty… just be careful they have been known to cause extreme strength gains

Thanks for the warning! I’ll try to be careful.
