Rising From the Ashes (CL)

when ever I read your new log title I can’t help thinking it says Hell in a cell, and this just makes me think of Stone Cold. I now picture you doing every work out with the Texas Rattlesnake.

Which makes me think of Eminem’s Lose yourself, when he says “tear the motherfuckin’ roof off, like two dogs caged.”

So there you go, CL. Don’t let us down!

 Where I live, Texas Rattlesnake has a whole other meaning. Trust me. I look for Texas rattlesnakes everytime I open the gym door! Took one out years ago with a 10lb plate!

Hell is empty and all the devils are here… in my head. Dealing with mom has become increasingly difficult. Not so much from the physical problems, it just breaks my heart to see her giving up. :sob:

The other day I didn’t even want to come home. I know this too shall pass… like a kidney stone, but it will pass. Got to just take one day at a time.

Oh, I would love to tear the roof off. Or tear somebody a new ass, or fuck, just tear something up!

Between mom and Mr Hairy the breaking point is getting close, way too close.

Sorry to read this, CL. I’m seeing my dad through a similar life stage, and it’s hard as…

But I’ve been stoked to see the work that’s going on in here, despite the challenges.

Hang in there!

Sorry to read about your dad. It is tough!

Thanks for the words of encouragement.

Out of time. As wonky as it’s been, progress is slowly being made. Weight is steady, strength going up, nearly an inch off the waist. So it hasn’t all been in vain.

Great job!

Sounds like some good progress there.

 great is such a strong word, but at this point beggars can’t be choosers.

I just wanted to share this because it was soooo bizarre. When I came home last night this little guy must have found some loco weed or something. He was acting all kinds of weird. My dad’s old pick up has been parked for years ( just don’t have the heart to get rid of it) he/ she was out there trying to get in it. All the windows and doors are secure. It was on the tool box trying to break in through the back window, then it would jump on the cab, the peck the side window.

I investigated and couldn’t see anything! Maybe it was trying to fight its reflection in the glass?
Just weird!

It jumped down when I close, then it came at me! Eventually it ran down the driveway a few feet then got back on the pick up and continued its craziness.

It wasn’t out there this morning so I guess he fought his demons and went back to its nest and sobered up… lol

Wow! Talk about some good music to ride the Airdyne to! SRV is my favorite artist and I’ve seen that sound check video before. I think in the comments someone said, “if some long haired dude walks in wearing a leopard skin trench coat, cowboy hat and boots, you know something is about to go down.” Excellent assessment I’d say. :joy: I also love how he walks out and yawns like he just woke up, then just shreds it… Oddly enough, the first thing I do every morning when I wake up is play guitar for about 10-15 minutes. Hopefully one day it will sound half as good as SRV. :sunglasses:

Absolutely heartbroken this morning. In March one of my peeps graciously got me a “new to me” SUV ( long story, I won’t go in to that) It’s an older model 2003 but very well maintained.
I was soooo happy to have a decent vechile!

Last night on the way home I hit an exotic, possibly an audad. I don’t know, it had curly horns like a ram. The deer guard did its job, so the damage isn’t horrible but, it broke things. I am just sick over it :sob::sob::sob::broken_heart::broken_heart::broken_heart:

Tried to burn off the heartbreak.

Thank you! I went back to find the critter but no sign of it. I want to know WHAT is was. There were two of them. We have a lot of high fence here now. One of these days in the future mother nature is going to let all those exotics out and its going to look like Africa!

Sorry to hear that. At least you are ok. Hate it for the SUV though. :frowning:

Glad you are ok. I’ve seen animals do a lot of damage and seriously injure people.

Thanks guys/gals! @shaneinga @donnerschweer @Crippler56

I think the deer guard was the only thing that kept the air bag from deploying. It could have been wayyyy worse. It’s still drivable so I am lucky. Life goes on.
