I still have my other heavy bag but it’s longer and my roof is too short for it to work inside. I have to hang it in the tree. This one is shorter and packed much tighter. I am hoping it will work better inside than the other one.

I didn’t weld it but look at this bullshit!! He welded expanded metal in the back and to put string lights on it. 
What was he thinking?
But he wants me to make bluebonnets. How am I supposed to make bluebonnet flowers out of rebar?

Its nice, but with the expanded metal, did he paint it? I mean, if theres going to be a backing, it has to be used some way to enhance it.
Hmm… I’d say- forging, or maybe cold forming petals, even using aluminum to make it more workable? Arranged around a main stem with laterals.
Thats a tough one!
Edited to add- of course he gives the tough part to the one with all the skill!

He just painted it black. It looks “okay” but was a huge pain in th ass getting the zip ties around the lights.
I know right! He didn’t even want to attempt the bluebonnets. Just kinda said you try it… lol
We have rebar and now expanded metal to work with. He’s not ready for anything aluminum.
Not even sure how big the bluebonnets are supposed to be or how many of them. I’ve got till Thursday to cipher on it. May not happen. There’s only so much you can make with rebar and lights

Neither am I! I mean, I do work it a good bit, it just feels like a sucker punch every time.
If I had to do something that intensive I’d definitely be leaning toward thin bar stock like ⅛ or ³/16 , and a roll bender.

We used to have some 3/16 rod with jigs for the hummingbirds and stuff but he didn’t like doing that so, he got rid if most of it.
He was thinking I might be able to use that expanded metal. We’ll see. I will try to come up with something.

My most recent from friday-
Informal bend test. The weld is between the lines at the apex of the bend.
Because I was cutting a set of climbing gaffs to pieces! extending them for my buddy. He’s a big feller.
But they went pretty good.

Okay, went and reassembled my new toys. Definitely need a bigger gym
I am going to have to wrestle that hateful treadmill, (that no longer works) out. It was a bitch to get in there in the first place. 
Then, finish walling up the side that faces the garden. I wanted to get all of these things done last year but, my mom’s health has been steadily going downhill since she had covid a couple years ago.
I have no expectations that she is going to last forever, it’s just the steady decline that’s hard to deal with. I have been consumed with worry. It is wasted energy. I have tried to get her to go to the doctor and she did, to get her meds refilled but he is absolutely useless beyond that. Ugh! Now she is mad and won’t go back.
Anyway… sitting here pining over it ain’t gonna change a thing.
Since I started this adventure however many years ago, every winter I go through the “heater” dilemma. Ya know what? I think I’m just going to go buy a tank top heater this year. Good Lord just go get one already!

On a side note. I have been trying to get another pic of this critter in my creek. I am 99% sure it’s a porcupine but haven’t been able to get another pic of it. Just for the record… I now absolutely hate micro sd cards. I have had soooo many problems with them in these cameras.
