Rising From the Ashes (CL)

Oh no! Shit happens. That’s why they made grinders :stuck_out_tongue:

Did she temper the chocolate for the coating?

No. She uses almond bark. We have tried different methods but the peeps like this best

So you melted down almond bark and dipped it?

That’s really cool. I’m trying to get into confections

Yes.

(talking about Ink Black Heart)

I’m beginning to think the bad reviews you’re seeing are based on the medium (audio) rather than the content. I just started (chapter 6, 50ish pages LOL), and there’s a bunch of stuff there that’s supposed to be computer chat room conversations, with 2 different chats going on at the same time; there’s no way they can simulate that in an audio version; plus you’re not supposed to know the sex of the chatters until revealed (how do you do that in an audio version?).

I got the Kindle version as well (for reading in the dark), and the Kindle just puts the chats one after the other as opposed to on both sides of the same page at the same time (like in the hard copy book).

Yes, that was the major complaint. I am now 40th in line so I should know by July

If I don’t finish this gigantic tome by Jan 6, I will have to return it and be 19th in line for 6 copies.

The lines for audiobook and e-book are much longer, a sign of the times I guess.

Little known pro tip I only discovered past few months (at least for my library) -as long as I don’t “log out” of the Kindle e-book, I can hang on to the e-book indefinitely, no re-check-out necessary.

I am listening to The Winter King by Bernard Cornwell.
Needed to change things up for a bit.

I said it elsewhere on this site (but I can’t find where now): Cornwell’s retelling of the Arthurian Legend blew my mind!

Hope you’re enjoying it!

Thanks to you and @TrainForPain for recommending.

For total “mindless” reading, I’ve been going with the Gray Man series -and I swear I got it from someone’s recommendation on this site, and not because of the Netflix movie. The first 5 in the series are like one big story.

It’s so mindless, I read this via my Kindle while stuck in bumper to bumper highway traffic recently LOLLL -it’s safer than texting!

Back Blast (#5) was by far the best I have read so far. The rest are pretty meh. I have read
most but, not all of them. I can only take so much of him getting his ass kicked.

Agreed! Story over for now, I’m giving the series a rest for sure.

So true!

Last week I was feeling pretty good. Thought maybe I am on the mend. Yesterday and today, not so much.
But I did go out to the gym.

Lots of stretching.

Squat
4x5/bar
Incline DB press
3x10/15s
Disappointed. I got light headed and couldn’t do more, but it’s a start. If I felt better last week that means whatever it is ain’t permanent. I got this!

Yesterday was my birthday. Snapped a pic for transformation challenge. Got disgusted, then told myself it’s not that bad for an old chick!:rofl::rofl:
