Rising From the Ashes (CL)

Pulled 400 sq ft of laminate flooring planks out of a cabin full of furniture. Close enough to a workout by the time I moved everything. Only worn a hole in one knee and ripped the cuticle off one finger. Winner, winner chicken dinner!

Interesting split. I liked the legs-push-cardio-pull version - I need to include some cardio for best results.

I have training A.D.D. right now. Just can’t find my groove. I am blaming it on the weather. I have been wheelin and dealin to resolve the situation. We shall see.

I can relate. I’ve decided to take a stick race approach to my training. Whatever stick is winning, whatever lift is improving, that’s the one I route for and focus on and care about. I’m lying to myself a little bit here. But training is less disappointing this way.

I can also relate, but I find myself comfortable with my distractibility for probably the first time in my life. I feel that, having made it to my 50’s without having become an overweight, sedentary, bad-kneed stereotype, I’ve earned the right to pursue exactly what I want, whether that’s less or more, without accusing myself of being a disappointment.

It’s a weird feeling, and probably Covid-inspired, so it may not last, but it feels good not to expect of myself that I be exceptional in every arena.

Had a hard time getting started this morning. My 90 yo’s son AND daughter in law separately called me last night and absolutely lit in to me about her not wanting to wear her new hearing aids. I feel she is 90 yo and if she doesn’t want to wear them… so be it. I don’t know what they feel like to her. It’s hard for people that age to learn something new. Now, I am supposed to convince her to wear them… UGH!!!

Anyway, squats went extremely well. All the 155s were to depth, so proud of myself

When I moved my rack last week it screwed up the landmine and belt squat setup. Will have to work on it some more this weekend.

Just went out to the garage to try out those landmine belt squats, actually felt really good. Need to get a better hip belt but hat tip to you chick, never thought of those :+1:

Good idea, let’s ya get plenty of volume in for legs without taxing the lower back.
I sent of for one of these wee suckers👇, first time I tried them last night the chain slipped and I ended up on me arse lol.

Oops! I had trouble with chain slipping as well. I have one of those on my amazon wishist…lol I prefer them without the landmine just standing on a couple of cinder blocks. I have a bunch of 25lb plates so it still gives my short ass good ROM. You would definitely need more weight on thr bar.

Marisa Inda was who planted the idea. She said the same as you… plenty of volume without stress on the back.

I’d be worried about cinder blocks breaking beneath me! Do you have access to large-diameter logs, say two or more feet diameter and a foot tall? Chopping blocks but cut flat and smooth on the tops and bottoms.

I don’t have any big logs like that. I have been wanting to build some plyoboxes for years and have just haven’t got around to it. Lumber is really expensive right now so I don’t see it happening in the near future. The cinder blocks will just have to hold together for now.
