At Senior Olympics 2015 there were 36 Track & Field competitors in the 95 - 100 bracket and some in the 100 - 105. Tell your Dad to start practicing.
Lol! My has COPD and is in a wheelchair. But, the 94 year old might take you up on it!
Looking strong CL. I liked the meh warm up with the deadlift PR day. I’ll take a meh warm up with a PR. I hope you have your dad’s genetics for longevity.

Then I went in to get a drink of water. My son wanted to know if I wanted to hear about some animals, of course I do honey. 45 minutes later, I now know a caracal cat can jump high enough to kick a giraffe in the chin, and that if it weren’t for wolves, we would have no trees. And at least 2 dozen other assorted animal facts. He rarely wants to talk so when he does, I always stop to listen. Usually, it’s only a couple, but today was an encyclopedia! He is so awesome! I just don’t know how remembers all that stuff.
Nice Sumo pr chicken!
Thank you!
Still a lot of volume
Why would anything want to kick a giraffe in the chin?
Those are some cool facts. What is it about wolves that leads to having trees?
I believe they were using the giraffe as a example of height, but who knows.
Wolves were actually hunted to extinction in Yellowstone. That gave way to an epic population explosion of elk. The elk ate everything, even the trees. A normally 90 ft tree would only be two to three foot tall, because they kept eating them off. Wolves were reintroduced to the park, ate the excess elk and viola!! The trees grew again. There was something in there about beavers also, but I didn’t really get that part ![]()

One week out from my first meet. This last week was totally screwed up. Got really stressed out. My bad. My “buddy” that was supposed to be there for me, went MIA. Go figure. Can’t imagine why I don’t trust people.
Anyway, openers will be submitted and I will do what I think is right.
I didn’t realize you’d registered for a meet. Have you decided on your planned attempts? What fed is hosting the meet?
Since I have never even lifted in a real gym, the first one is just practice.
It’s a small RPS meet. They want it in kgs, so that’s a little different for me. My openers will be 60/132, 37.5/77. 97.5/214
We will see how it goes.
You’ll get used to thinking in kilos for meets. Oddly for me, although I compete in kilos, I get effed up if there are kilo plates in the wgooarm up room. I’m used to warming up in pounds. If I know there are kilo plates in the warm up room, I plan the plates ahead or time and bring my own collars since they don’t add weight to the bar. In a typical kilo set, the collars weigh 2.5 kg.
Your opening attempts sound solid and like good attempts. I’m looking forward to finding out what you think.
Have you reviewed the rules?
Yes, and then they sent a very detailed email which was helpful. I will have to get the rack heights when I get there to weigh in. They use a monilift so that will be interesting.
@ouroboro_s I do have a question about the singlet. Do you prefer a men’s or women’s? And what kind of material? And what size do you wear? I think we are pretty close to the same size.

Spent all morning cooking for my mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary.
I wear a Titan singlet. I believe it is the triumph style. Because I mostly compete IPF, we are dictated as to what kind we can wear. They have to be manufacturers that pay their fees. Prior to that I wore a matman in size small.
Matman makes them and sells them to PL manufacturers to rebrand. I prefer this style because of the piping around the bottom of the leg. However, I discovered a few years ago that because the leg is shorter, half my backside would hang out when I deadlifted so now I stick to the longer legged Titan.
It was this style
