Rising From the Ashes (CL)

Have you purchased a cable station?

No, I picked it up last summer. A fire dept in the town next door posted it on marketplace for free. They were moving and didn’t want to deal with it, so I went and got it. When I got it home it is too tall to fit in the corner of my gym I “thought” it would fit in.

Oh. A shame that it it did not work out. Are you getting rid of it then?

No, when things settle down a bit and the weather improves, I am going to add a room on to my tin shed I use for a gym. I want to use that leg press!

Way to go!

Late to the party, but Happy Birthday!

I’d be 200 lbs if I ate all the goodies you’ve posted this holiday season LOL.

Thank you punny!

Lol! She does like to cook!

Our little buddy crossed the rainbow bridge today. I buried him down by the creek. He liked nothing more than to escape and go on a walkabout down to he creek. He was a good lil pain in the ass. Our hearts are broken. Rest in peace lil buddy.

That’s a nice bodyweight complex! How’d it feel compared to barbells and dumbbells?

Uhmmmm… well it’s not my favorite but I am trying to convince myself to stick with something like this all year. I know from past episodes that my bench always improves when I do the push ups. It’s just MAKING myself do them that’s the hard part. One day I would like to be able to do dips…lol

Same and same. Bodyweight exercises are a great way to add volume without draining recovery. One of the few YouTubers I follow, and avid body builder-turned-CrossFitter in England, noted how his pecs wouldn’t grow from anything until he started doing push-ups a few times a week. That surprised him, because push-ups are neither heavy nor pec-isolating, but he couldn’t deny the effects.

Perhaps I should do as you are and commit to something like 3 sessions per week of calisthenics, separate from lifting. Keep it simple - step-ups or lunges, push-ups, BPAs or towel pullups, and abs. Hmmm…

I wouldn’t recommend it, but walking on crutches for several months turned my dipping from very difficult to effortless.
