Rising From the Ashes (CL)

No worries. My log is always open for discussion. Sometimes I am too dumb to keep up but that’s beside the point.

I am a simple person. More weight equals progress…lol I like progress. I have typed out and written the same numbers for years. I need to shit or get off the pot. That was the point of finding my weakness so I can address it. Make plans to fix it and make progress.

For the first time in a long time my brain is slowly turning back on. My thoughts are not as scattered and I am regaining some focus, in all aspects of my life. Let’s just hope it keeps improving.

P.S. it may be easier to leave said treadmill outside and build the roof over it, just saying. It hasn’t rained in weeks. The minite I get the thing out of the garage I was storing it in… boom! 40% chance of rain, go figure.

34mins later… secure. Wow! what a workout.
It may be missing a tiny bit of paint… lol

This certainly isn’t my first one but it was definitely the hardest to move. Now, to put it place and take for a spin. I sure hope my son likes it.

All I need to find now is a rowing machine.

I agree 100% with both points. I was trying to get at the same thing, but you said it more clearly

SUCCESS! He and I both made it a 1/4 mile before almost having a heatstroke. No breeze today whatsoever.

You are pretty far off the mark with that estimate. 99.9% of that think they’re bodybuilding maybe, but I doubt half of lifters are in it for that. Some people are fighting aging, some people are hanging out with their bros, some people are trying to hook up, some people are lifting for an end goal that has nothing to do with appearance. Powerlifting, Strongman, O-lifting, even a percentage of Crossfitters, have appearance as a secondary and less important aspect at best.

This was pretty much exactly my point yes, that the vast majority of people are not lifting specifically to have a 700lb deadlift (or whatever). Most are ultimately lifting for another reason, and the 700lbs deadlift (or whatever) is simply a tool for them to get there.

At least you haven’t regressed like some of us.

Looks like a good plan. Looking forward to seeing the progress (although I’m slightly worried by the appearance of a treadmill, that sounds a bit too much like the C-word)

Your point seemed to be that most people are lifting for appearance and getting sidetracked by numbers.

It was meant to be that people are lifting for many reasons that aren’t just numbers on a bar. I may not have communicated that clearly enough.

I am always trying to get Jed involved and that is one thing I can get him to use on occasion. I think he likes it because he can run on it barefoot.

Could have been me, I seem a little off today.

Wu nah
Not enough food, sleep or energy. Things felt heavu today so I did the bare minimum to keep my progression going for next week

Anderson squats
1x5/135
1x3/185
1x3/205
Didn’t even attempt 225

Squat
5x2/120

That is all.

Sounds like your body’s wanting a little deload.

Sounds like that hauling all that crap along with not eating kicked my ass last weekend…lol. There was more to it than just the treadmill. The welded wrought iron bakers rack was torally worth it!

I have one more deal in the works that will require some really hard work. Keep your fingers crossed that it comes through for me. It will be a huge deal for me if I get it.

Annnndddd… I thought I would be smart and bought some chicken leg quarters because they were on sale. I cooked them Monday and paid the price. For some unknown reason if I eat bone in chicken it rips my guts out now. It doesn’t seem to matter how I cook it, boiled, baked, fried. It’s one of those things that I tell myself I am being crazy about. How the hell can one have a reaction to chicken? No idea. Let’s just say we won’t have ànymore chicken legs for a while.

There is marrow and a few other things in the bones, that come out into the meat while cooking. Could be any number of things there affecting the stomach. Possibly even antibiotic stuff depending on the chicken.

Well whatever it is, I just need to avoid it.

If it hurts, don’t do it! Embrace the bro science now and let the regular science catch up in the future. Good plan.

It’s wild how sensitive we all are to different foods. Cinnamon makes me feel poopy for some reason - go figure
