Sound like a fear bitter. I would not go in there if the dog is not crated or at the very minimum a solid collar, a basket muzzle would be a great addition.
In the mean time, if you keep going there, bring some liver treat. Toss them in front of her. If she take them it is a good sign. I mean you want to just drop treats all the time once the beast start seeing you as a good thing you can reduce the treat.
Or just don’t get in there for you safety.
@simo74 I just don’t want to sound like an overreactive ass, but I have a couple scars on my leg from the last encounter.
@punnyguy my son has taught me patience. I try to give everything a “chance”. I’m the idiot that roots for the underdog, but I do have limits.
@flappinit I am worried about this turning bad quickly. I will defend myself next time and that would break my heart, but when she blocks me in the kitchen I get uneasy. I am looking for an escape route over or up on the counter, because she doesn’t approach with ears perky and tail wagging, it’s like she is sizing me up.
@Voxel technically you are supposed to report a dog bite but I like the people and I would like the dog if she would calm down. I am all about belly rubs, ears scratching, toy throwing, and giving chase. So, I wouldn’t report it unless absolutely necessary. @Cyrrex They live way out in the country so there is minimal risk of exposure to kids.
@donnerschweer I think you are exactly right about the fear biter. They even talked to a trainer and he told them it would do more harm than god at this point. I just told my mom last night the treats are my next approach. I am just going stuff my pockets with dog food/ treats and everytime she gets close toss a couple out. She is always hungry so food is a motivator for this dog. I’ll give that a go before I call it, but if that don’t work, I am out. It’s just too exhausting to damce around it al day.
The dog just thinks you look tasty, gotta either cut or dirty bulk. Jokes aside, everyone up the thread has the right idea being bit by a dog isn’t a reasonable working condition.
That’s a hard situation with the old people…BUT you also should be sure to let the owners know that a dog bite is a massive financial liability. And that they are lucky it hasn’t required anyone going to the hospital–yet.
If it bites you and you required stitches or worse, who pays for the doctors bill? Are you sure if its vaccinated?
Likely you’d be stuck with dog bite/laceration repair medical bill even though the owners are responsible and you could press charges. Dog bites are no joke, you could quickly loose your ability to work while you recover from one chomp on the wrong spot- like your hands which have so many nerves. Its your livelihood at stake if they refuse to control their animal. Its touchy with the older people but…its also your body at risk!
That’s it! I have to take care of my family too. When she bit me the first time it was a chomp, not just a nibble. The only thing that saved me was I was wearing my extra high top shoes and the top row of teeth got me and the bottom row couldn’t penetrate the shoe.
They are very responsible as for as taking care of the dog. I am sure it’s vaccinated.
If the treats don’t work, I’m out. I think I have given this a reasonable go.

1x3/95 was thinking… why is this so heavy? It’s only 85lbs, I have done this with no problem. Duh! If you put 2-25s on a 45lb bar that’s 95
1x5:85 once I already fried my chest with the 95s. Bybthe end it felt too trappy

The news is… I do have tiny traps now!
And zero front delts yet Not sure how to take the traps out of my pressing.
How low are you going on your press? I find that the part of the movement where my elbows drop below my shoulders is really where my delts get hit. The top half isn’t the delts strong point.
On the TH OL elbows are about 90 degrees. Regular bench, elbows are definitely below shoulders. As much pressing as I have done it would seem like the lazy lil assholes would get the message.
There a many many shoulder routines, if you ask @Frank_C or @jackolee they’ve got a couple of tricks in their sleeves.
About the dog situation.
Try the treat thing, but I would say that the couple should crate the beast.
“Exercise” is either about the movement, the muscle, or usually a combination of both. the vaunted mind muscle connection is what you need to build first.
When a bodypart is dominating the movement, the programming is irrelevant. Ditch movement, focus on the muscle. Personally, I would take the smallest dumbbell you have, press with one arm at a time; using the other arm, touch the muscle you want to be using, and focus on that; some people are more visual so looking in the mirror at the muscle is also an option. If you have access to teeny kettlebells, try the upside down kettlebell press -if your mind is not focused on the muscle, there is no way you are going to be pressing that thing. Light weight or no weight is key, otherwise your brain will always fire up the strongest available muscle it has to do the job (in this case your traps, or possibly your triceps)
