You’ve got some good size to your biceps man, nice.
Don’t let your foot off the gas, remember that everyone else got more time as well

I’m glad i haven’t atleast withered away into nothingness like i thought i would without lifting. I was never big or strong to begin with so that saves me alot of headache (of not being capable of losing alot of size since i didn’t have much lol) Of course i’ve still lost mass though.
There is a striking tournament at the end of the year as well. i’m going to try go to the wednesday training in the next town where my coaches teach a class. I’ll have to ask my coaches if they will pick me up on their way there though.
Your physique is continually improving.
A lot of people have this concern when (IMO) they shouldn’t. I can be pretty inconsistent with lifting but I know that if I put on size and strength now, that it will be much easier to get that back in the future.
I didn’t lift between October-April (not much anyway) but it only took a week of warmup weights and a 6week 20rep squat program to get 99% of my strength and mass back. So as long as you arnt a lazy slob for 5 years, muscle memory really does work well. For me at least…
Thanks! I might start throwing in some ab wheel rollouts a couple times a week again and see where that goes. Oh and shit i forgot to post about something about that other gym i thought i could join.
Harder to build but easier to rebuild i suppose.
You know that gym that a mate told me about that you can go to if you’re 16?
Well you can only do the group classes otherwise you’re not allowed to lift weights unless you’re 18+. Seriously, who comes up with this shit?
I’ve ordered some adjustable dumbells that go up to 70kg each with 5 kilo plates so if i get a bunch of old 5kg plates i’ll be set for a bunch of stuff, even if its in my room and i have to do dumbell rows using my chair lol. Heck i might as well order a barbell too. Barbell plates are real expensive though.
Okay so apparently i’m not allowed weights in my room, and the old manager left last week and we got a new manager. They are saying i’m not allowed in the gym even when the new equipment is assembled and i remove the bench station due to duty of care. i’ve had enough wtf i just want to lift some ****** weights.
That kind of sucks mate, surely there is some way you can use the weight room, otherwise whomi using the bloody thing?
Keep an eye out on Gumtree for barbell and plates, always heaps of decent deals on there, so many people buy weight gear, use it once, let it sit for years, then flog it off for beer money
No ones using it. It’s depressing that it sits there collecting dust just waiting to be loved and cherished by yours truly lol
I mean i can’t use it at the boarding anymore but it will be cool to have at home, i’ve found alot of good deals on gumtree but their all in another state and pickup only
a shame. Ebay has some good deals too. I think il need to work on the farm for a few weekends.
eBay has sucked for bargains for a while now, Gummie will be your best bet, just be patient.
Gumtree is wayyy better. And Yeah i’ll stay on the lookout.
Captains of Crush
Warmup with forearm stretches and the trainer
3×10 no.1
3× alot of plate curls with 5kg
Hand bands
Why is that?
“Duty of care” the old manager was going to let me and i told the new manager but apparently in case i fall over or something who would be there to help me? Thats why im not allowed to go by myself. Honestly i despise this place, i cant go anywhere or do anything. I’m really struggling because really i’m a mess and my anxiety is the worst it’s ever been and im sick of the anxiety attacks and the panic and the lack of sleep and whatever and the only coping mechanism i have found that helps is lifting. It just helps. I talk to counsellors, i see a psychologist, shit like that but yeah like im trying to think of what to do with my future and i know what i want to do and what i want to be but how i can do any of it i have no clue so i feel like utter crap.
Theres like tafe in town but the things i need to study in tafe after i finish school this tafe doesnt have it and where i used to live ( in perth with my aunty, for 6 months) it does have it. Im stuck like hours away from where i need to be like how do i get there (i cant just move there, i have to get money first and a job there) and support myself, i know i have to move back to perth and then study at tafe and then Uni because i want to get my degree in exercise science ( strength and conditioning) and perhaps a few other stuff. Also to become a personal trainer i have to get my cert4 which is what i need to study at tafe in perth first.
And like this place is so stupid i feel like im in jail. Bedtime is at 9:30 everynight and it’s not like i get to sleep that time anyway. I try read books and stuff otherwise im just laying there for hours bored shitless. But of course they come in and have a whinge and make me turn my light off.
What the hell? It’s not like you’re 80 years old or something. The possibility that you’d hurt yourself in such a manner that would require immediate care is miniscule in a gym where there are no free weights. That’s literally a bullshit reason
Have you told that to someone who could help with you getting access to the gym? I’d suggest trying to find other coping methods as well, just so you don’t spill over and explode. - Grip training and martial arts are good, can you find more?
I’d ask the counsellors, they should know what you need to do.
Don’t stress that yet, you moving isn’t a “right now” - thing for you if I’ve understood correctly. Also, if you don’t get straight into another school after this one, don’t give up. Work hard and earn money for a year so you don’t have to work so much when you’re studying
Is personal training something you plan to do in the future? With sports science you 'at least here) certify as a trainer as well, so look if that’s the case over there as well if you don’t plan on working as a PT during your studies
Get a small lamp that you can attach to your books or get a flashlight, going by the general rules is a good thing if you want to be liked by the guys deciding on things.
Take a breath man, you’re 16, you have time. Just work hard and do your best. There’s no due dates for future events, things will happen when they happen, just keep putting in your best efforts and always keep your eyes open for opportunities.
Dude you are making yourself worked up for no fuckin reason. Of course they were never going to let you have weights in your bedroom. Surely you knew they wouldn’t let that happen?
You are always focusing on what you don’t have instead of what you do have. Thats a real shit attitude and let me tell you, becoming an adult won’t magically give you everything you are ‘entitled’ to. Believe it or not, things get tougher to get as an adult.
Focus on your martial arts, focus on your sports and focus on your study. Them taking away other options that you want to do is actually giving you a favour. You can now focus all your attention on just a few different things.
Sorry to sound harsh but I know adults who have your attitude and it is not a good look.
Hey Young Duke
That’s a shitload of stuff not going your way.
@theonecamko said it.
Be patient, I know you are not. But that’s about the only advice I can give. You’ve tried everything.
Your time will come, you have your BJJ and MMA and the sports at school.
Do BW stuff find a pull up bar somewhere, do some pushups, find some heavy shit lying around to do squats with.
I know lifting is what you want to do, but you’ve tried everything… So let it be, don’t let it get to your head.
The flashlight stuff at bedtime is a great advice too.
Some of the best advice my dad ever gave me is that you can swim much further downstream in 1 hour than you can upstream in 3.
Solid post.
Amen, brother.
Do push up ladders. Start at 30, then 29,28,27 etc.
After you get good at them just start banging out sets of 100.
Run steps for time.
Same with goblet squats, jump squats, etc.
Pull ups off of the frame around the door jamb or anything else you can get a grip on, dips with feet up on one chair, hands on another, deep push ups with your hands on chairs parallel…
There’s plenty of stuff you can do.
My dad took the weights off of me for breaking the ceiling below me when I was a kid.
(Yeah,yeah,yah, don’t drop the weights, I know…)
